Is there any track that has a dirt track and a pavement track inside each other?
I would think putting a half mile track and a 1/3 mile track inside would work. I think the inside track could be paved semi banked and the outside could be dirt highbanks. With a run off for water and mud inbetween that can be crapped when needed. The promoter could run 2 nights a week and every month have a big day of racing with daytime pavement racing and evening dirt racing. I bet USAC would love this type of track!
Just asking and Im new to short track racing only been around for about 7 years now.
Thanks

I have been to tracks where your right on the fence (Fremont) and I've been to tracks where your 100-150 ft from the track (Attica). Other tracks your sitting about 50 ft from the fence that could be used for a straight away.
Plus, the inside track would have some room for recovery if the car get off track, maybe.

aannhh11, The race track in Plymouth, Indiana features a dirt oval which is inside a paved oval. A single grandstand serves both ovals. Aerial photos are shown on their web site.

Back in the early 70's Nazareth Speedway had a small paved oval/figure 8 track inside the 1/2 mile dirt oval

Cool, Thanks!!! Plymouth IN
How are they doing with car counts and fans?
WOW and they run both tracks on the same nights. As advertized, Oct 4 and 5th.
How often do you run both track?
I only see points for dirt track nothing for paved track?

For many years in the 50's, 60's and possibly even into the early 70's there was a quarter mile dirt oval within the one mile paved oval at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Speedway (AKA the Milwaukee Mile) in West Allis, WI. During summer, every Thursday night open wheel modifieds raced on the quarter mile dirt oval. The same grandstand was used for the races on the mile paved oval and the quarter mile dirt oval. The paved oval was used a number of times each season for Indy Car and USAC late model stock car races.
