Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Outlaws to Oshweken tommorow night. Just hoping that they all cross the border, as that track is one of the best I've attended and I've been to quite a few in the U.S. Mr. Styres does an excellent job in getting that track race ready.

Nope. We already know that Brooke Tatnell and Dion Hindi are allegedly running Knoxville, so _all_ of them will probably not be there.

You don't need a passport as of yet, that is only if you are flying. Beginning January 1, you will need a passport to cross in and out of Canada at all. The question is...how many of the crew members have DUI's? Last I knew, they wouldn't let you cross if you had one...

Hard shit to get into Canada...Yeah..OWI, DUI..etc. They won't let you in if it is really recent. It is a Felony in the Hockey State. I was wondering all this stuff myself. I am sure there is a hotel near the border where many teams dropped people off and will pickem up coming back. Would be hard for alot of Aussies to cross, I would assume. Nothing bad for them just that most are in the US on work Visas or vacation visas and crossing borders is not to damn easy with that.

Smile, be polite and nice and they likely will not even check anything but a driver's license. Give 'em some lip, be a smart-guy and be prepared for a complete check from people to inventory and s l o w l y. Take It Easy....

Unless my dissertation at Boston College in Commonwealth Economics and Societies is now flawed due to time passage, both Canada and Australia were Commonwealth of (England) members and you can (at that time) actually travel between member countries with no passport needed. I would imagine it has not changed since then although some of the African members were suspended for civil rights violations.

Aztca, thanks for the lesson. That would make sense. If not true they are finding out.

I have probably been over the border to Quebec and Ontario for DIRT Modified tour races about 15 times and only ever had a problem once. Maybe the border guard thought something was strange that I was from PA and was crossing the border with friends from New York State, but they had us pull over and they checked evey inch of our car and every piece of luggage we had.
As an earlier post mentioned, DUI arrests are a problem when you try to get into Canada. I know several drivers on the DIRT Tour don't even go to the tour events in Canada because they have beem turned away at the border for a past DUI arrest.
Mike is right, though. Usually, they just ask what you are going to Canada for and how long you will be staying.
A couple other times, coming back into the U.S., my friends had some racing T-shirts laying on the back seat and the border guard was grilling us about whether we were planning to sell the shirts in the U.S. LOL

Nice to see the Outlaws back in Canada after about a 25 year absence. They raced at my home track in Winnipeg back in the early 80's. That was my first experience watching some of the best drivers of their time; Kinser, Ferkel, Swindell and Wolfgang, and it was the beginning for me becoming a huge sprint car fan. The shows in Canada should be very successful as both Ohseweken and Edmonton have never had a WoO show. I'm sure both shows will sell out. Grand Forks hosted the WoO for the first time ever last month and they saw their largest crowd ever. Our facility here in Winnipeg is overflowing with fans every July when the NOSA sprint cars come to town. Hope we can get the WoO boys back here someday. It would be a huge success. There should be no real problems in crossing the border as long as you are cooperative and polite.

Unless things have changed, you also need an inventory list of EVERYTHING in the trailer.

the only inventory they asked for was that of merchandise which the teams had to pay sales tax on regardless of any sales activities. Hannagan has special t-shirts that were made and look unreal! The Canucks are in for a treat at the Penthouse Trailer.. ;-)

My experience was when I worked in the music business. We had to have everything inventoried that had a serial number. This was back in the 1990's.

Allegedly? Brooke Tatnell won the A-main for the 410's at Knoxville saturday night. I believe Hindi was ninth. And yes I just went up to Brockville, it is definitely harder to get back into the U.S. than to get into Canada.
