Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates will move the 21-year-old upstart to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series fulltime in 2014, multiple sources confirmed Tuesday to The Observer and ThatsRacin.com.

An official news conference to introduce the team's new driver is scheduled Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Reached by phone on Tuesday evening, a team spokesman declined comment.

Larson and team members of the Ganassi organization were notified of the decision this week, sources said. Larson will replace Juan Pablo Montoya in the No. 42 Chevrolet

That is great to see a REAL open wheel driver (midgets-sprints- silver crown-both dirt & pavement) go to the nascar cup series I just hope they aren't moving him up to soon .But in the BIG'S sometimes you only get asked once .

Kyle has natural talent and I wish him the best .

judging by his current performance in nascar kyle will be there for a long time . kyle adapted to stockcars like a frog adapts to water . there are a lot of REAL drivers out there , unfortunatly the system is not fair and most of the time the best driver does not get the ride .

Unfortunately and unlike our non wing stuff where a driver can take a good but not great car to the checkered flag, talent doesn't always add up to success in NASCAR. No, I'm not saying Kyle won't get it done, I'm just saying a truth.

Once a long time ago there was a NASCAR racing team named Felix Sabates Racing. Mostly they fielded also ran cars. When Chip Ganassi joined up with them I had hopes that the success that Chip had in other forms of racing would carry through. That has not really happened. Maybe Kyle can show them how to win consistantly.
