Hamilton, Ontario – The Canadian Sprint Car Nationals sit just a few weeks away, and there is no hotter driver north of the border than Hamilton, ON native Mikey Kruchka. For the second weekend in a row, Kruchka parked his Big Moose Racing #01 Triple X in victory lane at Canada’s Premier Track, Ohsweken Speedway.
Fresh off win #1 in his career last weekend, Kruchka brought the Insta-Insulation, A-Z Expediting, Engine Research & Development #01 Triple X back to Ohsweken Speedway for a twin bill of racing, with a make-up feature and the regularly scheduled main event on tap. Saddled with a row six starting spot in the first feature, Mikey bid his time and gradually worked forward into a 5th place finish, all the while learning about his car and his preferred race line for main event #2. On the start, Kruchka was pinned to the bottom groove, falling to the fourth spot while waiting for his fuel load to burn off. As it did, the car came to life, giving him extraordinary forward bite off the bottom of the track. In the course of one lap, Kruchka went from fourth back to the top spot, as no one could stop his charge around the speedway’s lower groove. A matter of mere minutes later, it was Mikey taking the checkered flag first and in the process, setting a new track record for a 20 lap feature.
