ASCS driver heads back to Air Force duty
Rockwall, TX (8/22/13) by DarinShort.com. Mesquite, Texas native Mark Huddleston has been racing his familiar #33 car at ASCS events throughout the region, and at I-30 Speedway, for the better part of the past decade.
But what a lot of fans and fellow drivers don't know about Mark, is that he has been in the Air Force Reserve virtually the entire time.
Therefore, there are periods of time where you'll see him race - and then you won't.
Tonight Mark will be in the pit area at I-30 for the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series event, but not racing. He is getting ready for his next deployment. It is unsure at this point how long this tour will last.
If you happen to be in the pit area tonight at I-30, you will most likely find Mark turning some wrenches on the sam15.com car driven by Sam Hafertepe, Jr. Stop by to say hello, as he would appreciate the opportunity of meeting you - as this is his last chance to take in a night of the races before he heads off to parts unknown.

From all of your friends and racing family, best of luck Mark, and thank you for the service you provide our country.
