Adam Wilt has been building speed over the last month, and he and his team’s hard work paid dividends on Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway with a win in their 410 division. For Wilt, the former National 410 Rookie of the Year, the win validated his efforts through a year where he’s made major strides on the track.
“We’ve been rolling really good here lately, and really, the guys have just worked hard to give me a car that I can drive. The new tires this year threw me for a loop early, as they’ve got a really stiff sidewall compared to the Hoosiers we used to be on” said Adam. “Our Triple X chassis is really responsive, so we just needed to find the right combination of stuff to free me up at corner entry. We ended up swapping sizes around on our watts link and changed some top wing stuff around to where I can really drive the piss out of it entering the turn, and that’s been the biggest thing in being fast and where we want to be again.”
The changes Adam put into place have been bringing him to the front of the field at Lincoln, where he felt like he had the car to beat the week previous until packing his right rear full of clay against a treacherous curb. On Saturday night, Wilt put it all together, racing form 6th up into the lead by the halfway point of the race. From there, Adam drove his North York Auto Menders #15 Triple X to a huge advantage that would only be cut into via a late race caution. On the restart, Wilt drove away from the field again to score a margin of victory greater than two seconds on the 4/10 mile Abbottstown track.
