From FOX.      Although Montoya had a solid relationship with Target, Larson is a sponsor’s dream. He’s young, attractive, well-spoken and capable of winning. In seven full seasons on the Cup tour, Montoya only finished better than 17th in the point standings once. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how enamored sponsors are with a driver, they want results.

Jamie McMurray is expected to remain in the No. 1 Chevy for EGR and can help Larson acclimate to the Sprint Cup Series

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

NWF as you know I am a big Larson fan but I think it is too soon to put him in the Cup division.

Ofcourse I thought it was too soon for Danicky..and I still think that!   Wink

There is no doubt that Kyle Larson is the "real deal" with an immense amount of talent.  In addition, his demeanor would add to is attractiveness to a sponsor.

However, I think he would benefit greatly with a full year in the Nationwide Series before jumping to Cup.  It's just too early.

It's not too soon & It's now or never. Do you want him to get lost in the shuffle when the next crop of rookies hit the natonwide series next season? They will all be focused on Ryan Blaney Ty Dillon Chase Elliott and Jeb Burton and need Larson to move up to give the spotlight to the rookies.

It's Nascar politics. The youth movement has arrived. The old guys and start and park drivers will be weeded out of Cup. Kyle will do just fine in Cup. Atleast he is not wrecking cars like Gordon or Earnheardt Jr did when they started the Busch series, then went on to cup to do the same their first few seasons.

I don't know how a complete overhaul isn't happening at EGR.  Jamie McMurray has a career average finish of 19.1 according to my math.  How you sustain a race team with JPM and McMurray in your stable, I have no idea.

I disagree about owners just wanting results. It’s about money, mainly sponsorship money more than ever right now in NASCAR. Danica and Paul Menard are prime examples.  My opinion is that Earnhardt-Ganassi will sign someone to a one year deal to drive the 42 car for 2014. Naturally since he is signed with Ganassi I think Larson jumps to full time cup in 2015 in the 42 car. I think anything before that isn’t the best idea for his career. He is a great talent but I’d hate to see him make the jump before he has enough experience and is ready. But, if he is in a full time cup ride next year you won’t hear me complain. I just think his career would be better served by another full nationwide season. I was really surprised by JPM leaving. I always thought him and Chip were very close. Is Target leaving NASCAR? Was he told he wouldn’t be retained to make room for all the young talent coming through the ranks?

Talking about what Kyle had for lunch would interest me more than what his NASCAR plans are.  Its a crying shame that the circus full of lies is taking him from real racing.  Not sure why everyone is so excited about it on here.

Larson is absolutely ready!

If you can consistently handle and win a 410 sprint car, you can drive anything, including a cup car.

Kyle is already better than drivers like Danica, M. Waltrip, Gilliland, McDowell, Speed, etc.

If and when he makes the jump, I think we'll be surprised at how quick he can adapt to the cup platform.

Well lets see...he is already running the stock cars but for a lot less money and exposure than he would attain running in the Cup series. I fail to see how this would be a bad move. Kyle has stated over and over that he wants to own a sprint car team and provide underappreciated talent a chance to race like he has received. That is good for the sport. Any dream of Kyle ditching stock cars to race fulltime sprints is just that a dream.

Cheers!

I agree. I actually think he will do better in the higher powered Cup cars. People will have their eyes opened if he gets a Cup opportunity. I just hope he gets a sprint car team up and running ASAP with all that NAPCAR loot.

Cheers!

Glad some people hit on it, I'm not sure Larson isn't more equipped for a cup car than a nationwide car.  The Nationwide cars have become 'momentum" cars with recent HP reductions the past few years, the problem with cup cars is usually the additional 200hp they have.  He can handle a 410 just fine, that qualifies you in my book.  Not to mention, the guys who came up on any form of dirt racing (Gordon, Johnson, Tony, etc) all ran better and still do in cup vs nationwide.  The looser back end and extra power isn't going to bother Kyle Larson, Im not Chip Ganassi, but Kyle would be my pick....and Mcmurray would be on borrowed time with all the free agents available.  $.02

+1 I think Newman in the 1 and Kyle in the 42 . rather until Kyle learned all the tracks pointers and marks would be better coming from Newman instead of Jamie.

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

You could be telling more truth than you know wink . If McMurray doesn't win this season and misses the chase, both Ganassi drivers could be replaced.

kyle will have a full year in nationwide if he makes the jump to cup next year. the possibility of kyle running a few cup races this year has already been metioned. JPM isn't officially off contract until the end of the season.

to indy and beyond!!
