I had big plans on writing about my 8 days out in God's country and sharing some laughs and such but I have spent the last few hours at the Funeral of a close friend and teammate of many years and I'm too numb at the moment...

My wife and I had a wonderful time and saw some very good racing while being hosted by two of the nicest couples on the planet, the Zomers and in particular the Affdahls, four of Sioux Falls finest folks!

There were many highlights but sitting in a Hall of Fame Suite with the Zomers on Saturday watching Dusty come from 9th in a very STACKED B-Main all the way to 11th in the A is still pretty unforgettable.

There were an awful lot of people I managed to miss somehow and this includes Curt Grogan, FireFighter Jim from Philly as well as Dirthawk and Paintboss from this forum and many others, I do apologize.

Kevin Swindell dominated the Cappy Classic and it's 81 cars on Sunday in a Schatz style fashion.  Even with 2 or 3 restarts in the A he drove away in thle most dominating fashion I saw all week.  He looked good every time he was on the track and had a top 5 in the A on Saturday until a few laps to go.  By the way, I HATE the 50 laps deal (so does Steve K and Donnie S.) and I hope it returns back to 30 next year.  I could see it as a one-time deal for the 50th Anniversary but let's go back to NO Pit-Stops, this is a Sprint Car Race.

This may well be an annual thing for us and if so I will be better prepared next year, hopefully in a physical sense as well.  Thanks again to Dan and Carlene for the best week in a very long time, Take It Easy....

It was great having you visit the Beer Garden during your stay.  Just loved visiting with Kim.  You are now an official member of the Middle Street Beer Garden and are welcome to stop by anytime.  I think the way things go the next time you will be furnishing the wine.  lol.  Have a great year and see you next Aug.

My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.
