Anybody know if Sammy is on the hot seat with his owner right now?Just wondering if he will have a ride the rest of this year or next?I know his performance is down but I am figuring he has put Big Game in the winners circle so much that they may give him another shot next year but this is pure speculation. If anybody know anything to shed some light on my questions then please do?????

Look for Sammy to retire and put all his effort into his Chili bowl program

I am sure Sammy is good to go. No one else will represent the Big game guys any better. If sammy puts more time into chilli bowl I suppose he will lap the field. You people are crazy.

More effort into the Chili Bowl? All there is left for him to do is figure out a way him and Kevin can cross the line at the exact same time and they have to call them both the winner and a double purse to them. Smart ass comment, I know, just havin fun.

Sammy is 5th in points and Dollansky is 4th. At this point, it's hard to judge what will happen at the end of the year. I do think we'll see either Steve or Sammy retire and some rides change drivers. The off season may be interesting.

I talked to him and his wife at the Kings royal and he has no desire to retire at this time.He thinks he has a few years left in him,I am speculating though if he lost the ride that getting another one would be tough for him and it may force him to retire anyway.I talked to Dana Kinser and Steve is not done she says without doing a farewell tour so she can clean up on t-shirt sales

IMO, Sammy needs to forget about running the full tour and go back to racing when/where he wants.
Every time he does the "true outlaw" type deal he is fast and wins races. Running the full tour those old guys just look tired.

When Sammy and Steve retire, the WOO may be kaput! Been following WOO for 30 years and those two are still the reason I go to the WOO races. Better enjoy them while we can because they won't be driving in 5-10 years, and that will be a sad day for spring car racing.

Sam Swindell said that Sammy wasn't retiring and the work was already underway for next year.

Of all the people in sprint car racing and the WOO nobody, but nobody deserves a farewell tour more than the King.
I would hope that Steve would give all of us one last chance to thank him. Besides, he would rake in millions in t shirt sales. Who wouldn't want a King's Farewell Tour T shirt?

I disagree, only because their retirement is also key to drivers like Gravel getting into quality rides. It was the Sammy/Steve rivalry that a kept a lot of people around. What's not to say that a Pittman/Schatz rivalry won't take over. The Outlaws need some youth injected into the series to sustain it. Steve/Sammy are all time greats, but you'll never build the future of anything on the stars of the past.

Here is what I'm hearing, sammy will be back in the big game car next year. WoO tour is undecided.
Steve will retire at end of the year and Kraig will move into that ride. Damn I'm going to miss watching the king!

Nothing could lower the ticket value as no Kinser and Sammy.

I have great respect for Steve and Sammy, but anyone who is still motivated to buy tickets to watch them isn't following the sport very closely. The WoO can't afford to lose any more cars so I worry about their departure from that perspective. As long as the circuit can get decent counts and still go fast, people will buy tickets.
