After a wild night of racing at the O'Reilly Summer Slam 2 this past Friday that featured 124 teams in four of RPM's points divisions, the focus shifts back on the RaceSaver Sprint Car division this Friday with their 2013 point's finale at RPM Speedway in Crandall Texas.

A vicious points battle will be settled this Friday, August 16th between four RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers. Leading the pack going into the final points night for the RaceSaver Sprint Cars is Jeff Day with 280 markers. Second through fourth are easily within striking distance, with Robert Vetter in second at 278 points, Logan Payne in third with 277, and Michael Lang in fourth at 269.

With the closeness of the RPM Speedway RaceSaver Sprint Car points title up for grabs, it certainly sets the stage for an exciting night of racing.

Joining the sprint cars will be a complete racing program for the USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds. This Friday night is also the final points race before the highly anticipated $25,000 David Pope Memorial at RPM Speedway on Saturday, September 7th (which is also an RPM points race).

And due to the great support of the teams at the O'Reilly Summer Slam 2, the purse for the the David Pope Memorial event is now $26,000. The winners of the Factory Stock and Street Stock features will now take home $1,500!

In addition, Utility Trailer of Dallas has upped the payback in the $540 to win Dash for Cash for USRA Modifieds during the David Pope Memorial event. It now pays $54 to all Dash for Cash starters as well. Thank you to Utility Trailer of Dallas for their support!

Back to this coming Friday...

It's back to school time, and RPM Speedway will be giving out 100's of school supplies to all kids that come to the races this Friday. There will also be larger prizes given away, such as back packs and new bicycles - so make sure you gather up all the kids to enjoy one last Friday night at the races.

A much cooler night is in store! The current forecast shows race time temperatures of upper 80's and dry, with temps dropping into the upper 70's during the racing program. No 'rogue thunderstorms' are currently forecast, as weather.com shows a 10% chance of precipitation.

- The RaceSaver Sprint Cars finale will consist of heats and feature races that pays $500 to win and $140 to start.

- The USRA Modifieds ($600/win and $100/start), Limited Modifieds ($500/win), Street Stocks ($400/win) and Factory Stocks ($300/win) will all run heats and features. There are no entry fees in any division. Reminder to Factory Stock teams: powerglide transmissions are legal - as long as the car races with asphalt pull off tires on all four corners. Reminder also to the Street Stock division, if your car is 100% IMCA Stock Car legal, you are welcome to race in the RPM Street Stock division. There are no mixing/matching of rules - either your car must be RPM Street Stock legal OR IMCA Stock Car legal.

MANDATORY* WHEEL PACKING 7pm (ALL CARS, ALL CLASSES)

FIRST GREEN FLAG is at 8pm SHARP

REGULAR GRANDSTAND TICKET PRICES ($12 for adults) and pit passes ($30 for all ages) are in effect, with no driver entry fees in any division.

*Mandatory Wheel Packing from 7-7:30 for all cars in all classes. If your car does not wheel pack by 7:30 (at the time of the draw cutoff), you will start your heat race at the tail of the field and there are no passing points for those drivers. This applies to all drivers in all race divisions.

9:30AM FRIDAY AUGUST 16 RPM SPEEDWAY RACE DAY UPDATES!

After receiving strong rounds of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, the RPM Speedway track crew has been working feverishly to clean up the mess it left in its wake...but GREEN FLAG racing conditions are in effect for tonight's big racing program at RPM Speedway.

All scheduled events for Friday August 16th are still as advertised.

However, the weather did cause the track crew to rearrange their schedule; so the 'Back to School Bash' portion of the event for the kids ages 5-12 has been adjusted:

Instead of the school supplies giveaway, the promotion has been simplified to this: ALL KIDS 5-12 WILL BE ADMITTED FREE (with adult admittance).

The latest weather forecast looks FANtastic, with 85 degrees and partly cloudy during hot laps, and temps falling into the mid-70's throughout the evening. The forecast shows no precip is expected for the remainder of the day.
