1 lap qualifying
7 heats races - top 2 transfer
3 B-Mains - top 2 trasnfer
4 quickest qualifiers that do not transfer from heats or Bs also start at back of A
A-Main - top 4 lock into 17-20 starting spots in Saturday's A

So how can Friday's A-Main top 4 finsisher get locked in before saturday's B-Main?
They not running C or D main's on sat?
If thats the case, then there's 4 spots remaining, 20-24 starting spots, so why do friday's A-Main top 4 finishers get to be lined up before the saturday's B-Main top 4?????? Something aint right.
Racing Sprint Cars requires TWO BALLS to drive!
Racing anything else requires NONE!

You are close. One lap qualifying. 6 heats invert 4 and take 3. Two B's take the top three from each. There will also be a C if needed.

Bill,
Is the A lined up straight by qualifying time?
Also, I've seen it presented both ways in regards to the World Challenge. Is the winner the only driver eligible to make it into Saturday as long they're not qualified, or is the highest finishing driver not already qualified in?

Yes, the A is lined straight-up by time. Highest finisher in top 3 in World Challenge are eligible...

Last year Friday night was one of the best shows. But without some of these guys taking a chance its not stacking up to be as exciting. Tonights guys lockin into the A is justifyable because those guys in the B had the opportunity to throw their points out as well and chose to sit there. There could be (but unlikely) guys with less points locked into the A than the guys from the B who chose to not risk it.

Thanks, Bill. I think the format I listed is what was used last year. Or at least what was proposed before last year. I follow along with lineups and results and that is what I have my program set for (yes, I'm a nerd).

All drivers had an equal opportunity at the last 4 positions tonight whether they be Knoxville, WoO, Posse, etc...And I don't look at the world challenge as a provisional, you have to race and finish top 3 to be eligible. A provisional would be like giving a past Nationals champion a spot in the A without qualifying in. The way I look at it Friday's A-main and World Challenge is just another type of B-Main like on Saturday.
