PRESS RELEASE

OSS AUGUST 10th RACE TO BE CANCELED

(San Bernardino, CA, August 8th, 2013)

Dirt Entertainment announces the cancellation of the August 10th Stock Car race event at MacroAir Orange Show Stadium. This is to re-organize the marketing and infrastructure of the business and secure the long-term financial well being of both of our racetracks and our organization. Immediate plans are being made to restructure multiple facets of the organization to move forward. Within these plans is also an exciting new long term working relationship at the Route 66 Motorplex that will allow us to make necessary improvements and resume racing there this season. This will compliment our continued excitement at OSS.

As there is no current plans to cancel any more remaining dates at OSS, the main focus will remain on Dirt Entertainments future and moving forward in a positive manner. Dirt Entertainment, MacroAir Orange Show Stadium & Route 66 Motorplex look forward to resuming the OSS race season August 31st 2013 at OSS.

*NOTE:  The August 24th URA Unlimited Sprint Car race at Santa Maria Speedway is STILL ON!!!

We at Dirt Entertainment would like to thank everyone in advance for your patience and understanding as we work our way through the 2013 season and build for the future.

Dirt Entertainment would like to thank the continued support of all our sponsors; Macro Air Technologies, Neff Rental, Avi Casino & Resort, VP Race Fuel, Pick-A-Part Auto Recyclers, Rockauto.com, Racing Optics, OneDirt.com, Sprint Car Driving Experience, Circle Track Performance, Trackside Parts, Speedway Fire & Safety, Firehawk Safety, and our advisory supporters Walt Boyd, Paul Colston and Roy Cline.

Well said Rob. ,,,, I am really getting tired of this SHIT my self.  All these tracks keep saying SUPPORT---SUPPORT---SUPPORT. ,,,,Than thay take a shit. I think that scotty took on to much with trying to run 2 tracks at the same time. I appreciate what scotty was trying to accomplish . He needs to pick one or the other . ,,,, And make one good track. ,,,, Unless he can get more $$$$$$$$ MONEY $$$$$$$$$ on board. ,,,,,,, Than with the PAS only putting on one show a month ,,,,, And as much as I love Sprint car racing. ,,,,, I am just about done with it all. ,,,,,, I am loseing my THIRST MY FRIENDS. ,,,,,  ZZ

We are behind you Scotty. I am sure the guys commenting above are really still behind you too; they are just a little frustrated with the long break in the schedule and that is not of your doing. We all know that you don't have to do this, but are doing it because you love the sport. For this extreme effort, we thank you.

I seriously doubt either of them would have been going to the stock car show. Ass to mouth or whatever is busy blabbering about crap he just made up again. Robs just too excited for Saturday.

Big Speedway show Friday at pirate speedway and Saturday at wheel 2 wheel in Victorville.

I too am 100% behind you Scotty, its just very frusetrating (my spelling sucks) waiting 6 weeks between shows in SoCal I know I could travel to Ocean and Santa Maria but its just not worth the effort and exspense for a short field.

looking forward to the 17th at the PAS and then to Stoga.

Hey Rob!

Not to be that guy... but Hanford and Ventura have both had Sprint races in the last six weeks. Hanford might be stretching the definition of So Cal.  I am also willfully ignoring the 360 bias you have just to mess with you.

I waited until today to post because I didn't want to post what I was thinking after I reading another negative cry baby post last night. My good buddy's Rob's post opened the door a bit and that's all he needed as a excuse for more of his usual negative whining.

I've driven over 2000 miles to attend 2 shows at OSS and the opener at Victorville and I can't remember more smiles at any event except maybe Turkey night in a long long time and I felt damn good to be a part of it. S Cali has a opportunity to actually grow the sport with more tracks and I know it can be done because I see it happening over here; but it's up to you!  Scotty and his family and crew have put this series together for all the right reasons and if their struggling a little to get it done and done right and you’re a Sprint car fan, that's the time you need to show support and show up; instead of sitting on your ass in front of a computer thinking of things you think he should have done different.
I was talking with some of the teams who came up here last weekend for a two day show and their paying attention to what's happening over there and trust me, some of them will be coming over to race at OSS and Victorville in the future. Shon Deskin had planned on making the opener at OSS, but something came up at the last minute and he couldn't make it.

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

I also love the ideas of the ura and ive been to every race at victorville and oss.  Its noce to have more tracks.  The problem i have is the moved races and canceled race few weeks ago.   Personally I think that could be the night that buried the ura.  It was a wide open weekend and I understood moving it to oss on short notice,  but them to cancel all togetter put nad taste in my mouth.  They are asking for support,  thats a two way road.  Hope it all works out but have zero faith in it.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?  Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Very Clever post Kenny.  Smile

Something righteous and hopeful...

The URA is alive and kicking.  The Badass Sprint Cars return to the clay at Santa Maria Speedway on Saturday, August 24th to throw some dirt in your beer.  Hopefully once the cars hit the track, the rumors and politics will be (at least temporarily) silenced.  Lol

Guys, I can't report all the details at this time, but I can assure you that Scotty and his family and supporters are working diligently behind the scenes to provide quality places for teams to race and for fans to get their fix of dirt short-track racing.  Obviously it takes a ton of effort and a ton of money to put these shows on.  We knew we'd have our struggles this year, as any new business does.  Sometimes it's necessary to take a step back before you take 2 steps forward.  The positive is that you've got a guy running the deal who is so passionate about this sport that he is literally devoting his life to it...for YOU!

We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the cancellations have caused.  That was not the intent.

Thanks for your support!

See you all at SMS in 2 weeks,

Doug

Hey Kenny, tell us what you really thinkSmile  I did make the drive to OSS for the opener too, can't afford to do much of anything now because I am trying to put my wrecked race car back together for the Sept race at Canyon; but what I took from this may look a little different.  Coming from a car owner perspective who races on a budget and does not travel, I can tell you Scotty's deal is good for teams like mine.  Cash money same night and good purses, no travel, and smaller race tracks.  It costs a lot more to run bigger tracks if you plan to be competitive trust me.   So for me being a SoCal guy now living in AZ, if Scotty needs a break to regroup cool.  Don't race on credit, get your shit together and get back at it.  The guys will come back and so will the fans because it makes sense for everyone to do so.

As for AZ, well; we got a hell of a club here.  You boys want to see some competition head east.  I'm 43 now, I can tell you this is probably the best bunch of guys I have raced with and we just started.  We are not good yet, we're just getting back into it after a few years off and we have had some problems.  But we have also had lots of support, so raise that car count by one because me and my guys are really enjoying AZ.   It's just very grass roots here and TRUST me these boys in AZ are tough.  They know what they are doing and they have great equipment.    This is why our sport continues to grow in Arizona, its because we are working together to make it happen.  Racers, promoters, tracks, and fans.  I believe Scotty's group is taking their product in a very similar direction and that's why it will work.
