Opinions? He would be my first choice. Not sure if the schedules clash... That would be pretty cool though. If not Kyle, who?

Obviously Chip Ganassi would have to give his approval.

I would think it is going to happen as long as there isn't a contract issue to deal with.  And, even if there is a contract issue to deal with I am sure there would be a way to work $$ around it.  Chevy would love it.  I think he will be wheeling the 14 car after this weekend.

Yeah, like you said, as long as the contractual stuff can be ironed out, seems like a great idea to me. That might just be enough motivation for me to stay awake through a whole nascar race! Nothing against the other guy's, but watching Kyle come up through the ranks, it's like seeing history being made.

I'm a big fan of Larson but I don't think he is ready to run a cup racel....at a track where you turn right.  He is very little experience at these "so-called" race tracks!  Frown

With no cup experience and only one road race under his belt not to mention the contract issue I don't see it happening this weekend if at all.

My first guess would be Regan Smith.  He's already won at the Cup level and he's already "in the family" so to speak, driving for JR Motorsports which is an offshoot of Hendrick.  Larson would be cool but I'd be surprised if that happens.  Maybe he throws the old Buckeye Bullet a bone and gives Blaney a shot to run in top notch stuff for the last 14 races of the season....or maybe not.

What could go wrong with rushing an inexperienced talented driver too early in Cup with HIGH EXPECTATIONS.  Ask casey atwood how it worked out.

Kyle is the most hyped driver since Joey Logano.  What happens to Kyle's career if the 14 car doesn't perform.  Hell it did not perform that well earlier in the year with Tony driving.

I'm sure Kyle's management (Chip) have a plan.  Just because Tony gets hurt, maybe not the smartest move to rush Kyle along.  How many races does Kyle even have in a tin top and only about 1/2 season in Nationwide.

One of Kyle's biggest fans, and pretty sure he could do a great job driving any car, just do not want to see anything derail his career just my $.02

(Plus I want to see Kyle run the Trophy Cup (both win and nonwing) in October.

Your concern is valid--but, I think a 5 or 6 race stint would be a great way to start for him.  If he doesn't perform well--then hey--he gets the rest of the year off to regroup and continue growing.  If he does pop a top 5 or 10, then I think it will be a huge confidence boost for him.  (not that he needs any)

I don't think Casey Atwood or Joey Logano would be great comparisons either.    They were kinda one trick ponies.  I think Kyle has proven that he can go to any track, get some practice, pick it up and start passing cars.  It truly is amazing to watch him go to work in some of these places he has never been before--or visited only a time or two.

Casey won a couple Busch series races and Joey is a consistent driver in the Nationwide series, but I think Kyle is going to go on to win early in Cup competition and be in contention in very short order.

I think after Max Papis drives this weekend it will be a very real possibility that you see Kyle in the 14 for a few races.  If not, so be it.

I say put Kevin Swindell in the car. Hell he beat the choosen one both Saturday and Sunday night and has pavement experience.

I don't aim to please.
I aim to hit the target.
