We heard you on Friday make the announcement live. It's a business deal. I don't blame McCarl a bit. Give Terry some serious $$$$$ and I'm sure u could broadcast it.

I'd assume they already paid ASCS for the rights to broadcast events. Why pay for something twice?

Well I wouldn't be so sure of that at all. Why let someone broadcast it live instead of selling tickets? LMAO. What a great show and great times. Everybody having fun. No Rowdys, no drunken fools, great night of racing. Well put on show . Good job McCarl and all those that made it possible.

I think that is quite smart of Terry..... On Sunday night Knoxville Raceway had 81 sprint cars signed in and including all the WOO cars except Kinsers and Schatz and only had a crowd of about 3500 I'm guessing..... Meanwhile there were tons of people in Knoxville and the surrounding towns listening to the race for free on the local Knoxville Radio Station... I talked to a friend who lives in Osky and he is planning to have all his friends over to watch the Nationals on PPV at a cost lower than 1 grandstand ticket.... Makes absolutely no sense to me why they allow this....
If you are a race fan and want to see a race, go to it..... Nobody owes you a free pass, not Terry and not the Knoxville Raceway.... It this continues, purses will have to go down and then races will disappear.... Very simple, if the tracks and promoters down make ends meet, they will quit having races... At the least they should "Black-out" a 250 miles area around the tracks.....

I know for a fact that in years past at Knoxville when it was on live T.V. people camping at the track would not buy Sat. night tickets but instead watch the broadcast at their campsite at the track....While I understand that some people can't make it that is not a reason for Terry to give his product away....In years gone by we used to wait for Speed Sport which has gone the way of the dinasaur partially because of the instant access to news..Promoting any event is about putting butts in the seats at that event not in front of a radio or computer for the pleasure of few....If it's so important then you should have to pay at least the ticket price of that event and the person supplying the feed be it interweb, radio or Tv should pay the promoter for the priviledge of broadcasting it..

And I hope venues start charging the piss out of these companies that show it on Internet. You all want races but then won't show up. Kinda like the current state of this country--- people want everything for free!!!! Come enjoy the races get out and live a little.

Amen to that. Hey maybe they could get a Welfare rate to watch the races as they seem to want everything for free. Proud to be able and choose to support racing live and in person. People missed out on some action last night for sure

I think, from the standpoint of a business, it would have been much wiser for RACINBOYS to have made their announcement a little different than how it was done.
The announcement appears, at least to me, like a tattle-tail!
They simply could have announced something like this: "Due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be broadcasting tonight from Oskaloosa."
I think it was in very poor taste to make the announcement the way they did.
If there were ever a chance in the future for them to broadcast any races in which McCarl MIGHT be involved I think they did a good job last night of burning their bridge.
Just my two cents on the subject.

As a member of the ASCS and Racinboys travels, this was not a Nationaly advertised broadcast but to our little bunch of followers it was important. Scott is a freind of mine and I agree it was BS! Cancelling the day of the race will not bring more ticket sales. A month ago we would have to see. I have been to all the FRC races over the years and noticed last night the crowd overall was down. So are the Nationals. Racinboys reaches alot of dissabled people who otherwise can't enjoy the races.
And by the way.....GET THOSE DAMN TIRES OFF THE TRACKS!

It was announced way before the day of the race. they were whining about it on Friday night. Agree ban those damn tires and then racing boys need to pay to play. Smart move on McCarl it's a business deal.

Kinda funny, some ppv that I get, and I do try to watch a lot of it and several different types of dirt track racing, there are huge crowds, large car counts and announcements that more tracks want their product shown live. Guess it depends on how much the promoter gets and evidently, they get enough. Some of ya'll want live racing on the tv yet when there is ppv you bitch that it hurts crowds, blah blah blah. We are in a point in our time where people just can't afford to travel to the races like we use to so buying a ppv of a race that you can't possibly attend make so much sense. Yet I am aware that there are those of you who have all the answers so keep on with your thoughts......And as somebody mentioned on the other post, McCarl has never allowed live audio nor video of any Front Row Challenge so there is no consiracy theory.

How is it that you can't understand simple logic? If you need this situation mapped out, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Absolutely astounding. And it was an awful move on McCarl's part.

Shame on people for living 16+hrs away from tracks they are interested in. Some fans just want to take in some coverage of the biggest sprint car races on the planet. Most tracks allow this......
If tracks use the internet to their positive advantage they will find their way to more fans. When used it in a negative way (towards the fans) like this it reflects a negative opinion of the track and might keep new people from coming...
This form of Motorsports needs some positive coverage out there instead of just the dark days being covered.
ANY coverage of a actual race in tead of the carnage is good.
