Pinch Hitting for Bill W tonight is "Arnie" of the Bus House Gang

Sorry I'm a little later than Bill usually is. I had to make a stop at Dingus.

Outlaws Dion Hindi and Brooke Tatnell skipped the Williams Grove show to come to Knoxville and warm up for Nationals.

Brian Brown set quick time for the first time in the 2007 season. The Doogs team had a fresh bullet under the hood and ran a lap of 15.040. Brown was the 9th car out. Lynton Jeffrey was second quick (first car out), followed by Jack Dover (3rd), Dusty Zomer (10th), and Tatnell (25th).

Top 6 transfer to A-Main

Heat 1 (started): 1. Kaley Gharst (1), 2. Mark Dobmeier (2), 3. Calvin Landis (4), 4. Dusty Zomer (5), 5. Clint Garner (3), 6. Brian Brown (6), 7. Seth Brahmer (8), 8. Rager Phillips (7), 9. Robert Bell (9).

On the initial start Brown was loose coming off of turn and nearly turned it around, but came to a stop and restarted at the tail. He quickly found his way to a transfer spot. Zomer and Garner provided some side by side racing as the rest of the field stayed around the cushion and Gharst won easily.

Heat 2: 1. Ricky Logan (1), 2. Brooke Tatnell (5), 3. Dion Hindi (3), 4. Bronson Maeschen (4), 5. Lynton Jeffrey (6), 6. Bob Weuve (7), 7. Jack Potter (9), 8. Travis Cram (2), 9. Tony Schilling (8).

Logan was a rocket and pulled away early. Tatnell was impressive making the bottom and the cushion work as he sliced his way through Maeschen and Cram, but was ran out of laps before he could real in Logan. Cram had mechanical woes and pulled on lap 5.

Heat 3: 1. Davey Heskin (1), 2. Skip Jackson (2), 3. Billy Alley (5), 4. Larry Pinegar (4), 5. Brent Antill (7), 6. Mike Moore (8), 7. Mike Deavers (3), 8. Jack Dover (5).

Jackson took the initial lead but Deaver spun to bring the out the yellow. Jackson challenged Heskin for a lap before Heskin got into clean air and pulled away to win easily. Dover blew a right rear tire while in a transfer spot coming around for the checkered. Mike Moore is the lucky dog.

B-Main: 1. Cram (1), 2. Deavers (2), 3. Brahmer (3), 4. Phillips (4), 5. Potter (5.) 6. Bell (6), 7. Dover DNS.

Cram blows them all away. Top 2 transfer to the A-Main.

A-Main: 1. Tatnell (5), 2. Zomer (6), 3. Landis (3), 4. Brown (8), 5. Jackson (12), 6. Jeffrey (7), 7. Pinegar (1), 8. Gharst (13), 9. Hindi (10), 10. Cram (19), 11. Heskin (15), 12. Antill (17), 13. Alley (4), 14. Maeschen (2), 15. Weuve (16), 16. Deavers (20). 17. Logan (14), 18. Dobmeier (11), 19. Garner (9), 20. Moore (18)

Pinegar took off to the early lead. Brown and Jeffrey traded slide jobs at both ends during laps 3, 4, & 5 putting a whale of a show before Brown finally got around Jeffrey for good on lap 6. Mike Moore went pitside on lap 4. Lap 8 saw Tatnell get by Pinegar, but Pinegar returned the favor the next lap as Tatnell was caught in traffic. However Tatnell got by Pinegar for good on lap 10 as the yellow came out for Dobmeier who stopped in turn 2 with some front end damage. Brown's engine had a "miss" which later turned out to be a bad spark plug. The restart on lap 10 had the order of Tatnell, Pinegar, Maeschen, Zomer, Logan, Landis, Brown, Jeffrey, Jackson, Alley, and Hindi as they took the green. Zomer went around Maeschen and Pinegar right away and set off to hunt down Tatnell. Logan, who came from 14th to 3rd had a left rear explode on lap 15 going into turn 1, collecting Maeschen who was unable to avoid Logan. Alley pulled into the work area with motor troubles, but continued. Coming back to the green was Tatnell, Zomer, Pinegar, Landis, Brown. Landis and Brown got around Pinegar on the restart and Tatnell pulled away from Zomer in the end.

360s

Heat 1: 1. David Hall (3), 2. Gregg Bakker (2), 3. Josh Schneiderman (1), 4. John Schulz (6), 5. C.J. Houseman (7), 6. Don Young (8), 7. Tyler Houseman (9), 8. Glen Hunt (2), 9. Don Dawson (4).

Hall lead most of the way. Bakker got by Schneiderman with 2 to go.

Heat 2: 1. Nate Van Haaften (1), 2. Bryan Dobesh (5), 3. Joe Beaver (3), 4. John Kearney (6), 5. Brett Mather (4), 6. Randy Martin (8), 7. Alan Zoutte (2), 8. Dustin Selvage (7), 9. Dave Becker (9)

Van Haaften lead all the way. Mather won a good battle with Zoutte early on. Kearney looked fast.

Heat 3: 1. Russ Hall (2), 2. Mike Houseman Jr. (1), 3. Josh Higday (6), 4. Jeff Mitrisin (4), 5. Tyler Thompson (7), 6. Rick Ideus (3), 7. Tom Lenz (5), 8. Eric Jobe (9) 9. Christopher Sloan (8).

Russ Hall won easily. Higday moved up nicely to 3rd.

Heat 4: 1. Pete Crall (1), 2. Matt Moro (4), 3. Ryan Roberts (7), 4. Frankie Heimbaugh (6), 5. Chad Meyer (8), 6. John Hall (5), 7. Marty Stephenson (2), 8. Johnny Anderson (3).

Anderson blew a motor and was done for the night. John Hall spun in turn 3. Crall lead the whole way. Ryan Roberts was impressive.

B-Main: 1. Mitrisin (2), 2. Martin (6), 3. Thompson (3), 4. Young (4), 5. Mather (5), 6. Ideus (8) 7. Hall 8.Zoutte 9. C.J. Houseman 10. Selvage 11. Jobe 12. Lenz 13. Tyler Houseman 14. Becker15. Stephenson 16. Sloan 17. Hunt 18. Dawson

Mitrisin pulled away to an easy win. Top 4 transfer to A-Main. Going into tonight, the last 2 drivers in the 360 class to start every A-Main this season was Mather and Johnny Anderson. Scratch them off that list.

A-Main: 1. Moro (2), 2. Roberts (1), 3. Dobesh (6), 4. Russ Hall (5), 5. Higday (9), 6. Van Haaften (4), 7. Kearney (14), 8. D. Hall (8), 9. Beaver (13), 10. M. Houseman Jr. (10), 11. Bakker (7), 12. Mitrisin (17), 13. Schneiderman (11), 14. Thompson (19), 15. Young (20), 16. Heimbaugh (15), 17. Schulz (12), 18. Crall (3), 19. Meyer (16), 20. Martin (18).

Moro lead every lap. Roberts was catching Moro in traffic until a late caution for Chad Meyer who made contact with the wall in turn 2. Moro dedicated the win to Knoxville legend Gil Sonner who's wife Yvonne passed away today after a battle with cancer. Keep the Sonner family in your thoughts and prayers.
