baltimore- the DINGUS BUS was playing some COE out at Eldora...it was hilarious!

mulligan - 71fan's numbers come DIRECTLY from last weeks program sold at the track - it listed all WoO events at the Grove since the series began. no surprise that you would refuse to accept the official published results...nothing new under the sun.

i am sure learning one thing here. that is these pa. folks are sure good magicians. they have taken a thread about how they got their buts kicked by the outlaws and turned it into a who is better pa. or ca. thread. lol. just proves the point that you can't say anything about the posse getting beat with out the posse pushers trying to pull their slight of hand like putting up a picture of brian leppo just like the south hoists a tattered old confederate flag to try and throw you off. you guys are posting stats from 30 freakin years ago like it really makes a difference if the outlaws win 75% of the time or 80% of the time . it only takes 51% to make the point. you pa. guys listen up. we try to compliment you by saying your guys are without a doubt the best compitition the woo has. but that never seems to be good enough. also that williams grove is the toughest track the outlaws race against the locals at. but that still doesn't change the fact that more times than not the woo has beaten the posse at their own game in their own sandbox. they have beaten them by half again as much as it takes to mathimatically say they have beaten them.i know i am talking to deaf ears when i speak to you but i just can't help myself. it is always so funny to hear what kinds of goofy excuses you are going to come up with next.

Pennsylvania has some of the best drivers in the country, PERIOD, all one has to do is look at KNOXVILLE'S 410 Driver of the Year Poll... Our guys fill out the top ten FOR A REASON. Nelligan's theory of comparing Kaeding in Kinser's 11k to Wolfe in the 11h is about as credible as he is...lol. What a joke AS USUAL. Donny Schatz may have handed us our asses this year, LIKE HE HAS THE REST OF THE OUTLAWS... But even so, the POSSE STILL has a 40% winning percentage THIS CENTURY, far better than any other place on earth. Take Schatz out of the equation and we probably would be batting 50/50. Hats off to Donny Schatz.

Cubic - Now those are the kind of stats no one can argue with. Wait, no one was. The original post was that PA was 1 for 5 in the win column this year. That would be all tracks. I think everyone on this post at one time or another has said that the Posse are very good on their one unique track and a threat to win everytime they are there. Not so much anywhere else.

Also, you are correct in Mike shouldn't compare TK and Wolfe. Not even in the same league. For a fair comparison it would have to be more like Lance DeWease or Fred Rahmer. TK was barely 21 when he won his first WOO prelim at Chico.

Excellent post Cubic! Since the turn of the century, the gap has gotten alot closer until this year when Schatz started to dominate. Mike, I took those numbers right from the Williams Grove program, so they speak for themselves. Bill Meyer or not, they are correct. Wright-one sure does talk alot of smack even though his driver has been a non factor East of Ohio for the last 15 years. Talk to one of Jac's crew over the weekend and he hates the Grove because he knows that his team doesnt have the horsepower to compete there, so look for Jac's struggles to continue east of Ohio. Maybe some day Wright-one will see the light, but I doubt it.

John- I dont doubt the racing in CA is good and someday I would like to get out there. However, this argument is apples and oranges. Your couting CA wins when your CA drivers were Outlaws, this is not the same. PA drivers won WOO races when they were local and stay local. PA drivers CHOOSE to stay at home because they can. CA and Knoxville drivers hit the road when they become good because its the only way to make a living in a sprint car. This is not the case in PA and always has been. Some people find it hard to believe that our drivers dont want to travel, but why should they when they can make a good living here. Case in point, on Friday night July 27th the Grove will have 12 former WOO winners competing in their weekly show. Tell me which CA track or any other track for that matter will have that this weekend besides the one where the Outlaws are running?

1. Fred Rahmer 2. Lance Dewease 3. Greg Hodnett 4. Jeff Shepard 5. Mark Smith 6. Doug Esh 7. Mike Erdley NST 8. Don Krietz Jr. 9. Todd Shaffer 10. Craig Keel 11. Keith Kauffman 12. Go Brian Leppo!

You reap what you sow guys. You guys are pretty obnoxious (admittedly in a fun way) when the Posse wins, but the last 8 out of 10 times when they've lost, you've been pretty thin-skinned to criticism.

And there really was nothing bad to say about the Outlaw group this swing, they dominated on the track, drew good crowds, ran a quick show and the racing was no worse than many PA speedweek shows. And they paid more for 8th than PA Speedweek shows paid for 3rd, so the PA drivers when they did well got paid well.

Nothing bad to say? Schatz started on the pole of his heat, on pole for the dash, and outside pole for the feature Saturday night... I heard the Grove was going to install a christmas tree on the frontstretch for the National Open. World of Outlaw racing sucks... if I want to watch a drag race I'll go to the Reading Nationals. And even the drag cars don't HIT THE BRAKES and courtiously fall in behind Schatz like Kinser did going into turn one. What's next in the Outlaw rule book...brake lights and turn signals...lol. I'm starting to think the Grove ought to give the Outlaws the hand signal instead, like the rest of our tracks around here already did.

This was fun and entertaining banter until the last post. Are you saying the WOO and Donny Schatz are cheating and your tracks are assisting him in return for them appearing? Because that is what it sounds like. So in that case you are also implying that the reason the Posse cars did poorly was not because they are not good enough they just are not getting the preverbial nod to pass? Come on now. Do you really beleive that? Then again maybe your right. No wonder there are hardly any winners that are not on tour.

Take a deep breath Johnnyboy.

I don't get your argument that the Posse did so poorly last week. Bran Leppo won one of the races. Had ANY local ANYWHERE in America beaten the Outlaws this season prior to last weekend? I am just asking, I may have forgotten about a local winning a WoO race somewhere else this season?

Ok, central PA is 1-5 against the Outlaws this season. But you don't mention that the rest of the country is, what, 0-50?

The one argument I have never understood in this whole Posse/WoO debate is the one about the Grove being so unique that it confuses even the best Sprint Car drivers in America, which the Outlaws definitely are. The Grove has long straights and tight corners. It's not the only place in America with those attributes.

All of the top drivers on the WoO tour have been coming to the Grove seven times a year for at least a decade, if not much longer. You are telling me that the best drivers in Sprint Car racing are puzzled by a track they have visited at least 50 times previous?

singlefile - couple of things. The first was not the first to say Posse did poorly BRR said it in an earlier post and cubic's statements had eluded to it. I simply re-iterated what they implied. I do not feel they did that poorly just not that great. Second would be any local winning a race. I know no one from PA would allow that Tim Kaeding is a local (everyone in CA does) but he did win his second WOO race of the year with left over last year's equipment. From a technicality stand point I suppose we should consider him from Indiana since SK owned the car. Since that weekend is the only WOO racing we have had so far we will have to wait another month or so to see if he backs it up or if someone else steps up. Also, I am not talking about the rest of the country just PA. Evidently some consider PA to be just the Grove. Lastly I am not sure I remember anyone saying that the Grove confused the rest of the drivers. Iam questioning why only stats from the one unique track are being considered. Nothing more nothing less read it as you want. After reading Hawkers post I can see why you don't want to include the other tracks though.

Thanks Hawker for the post. Interesting reading there.

Drak - I meant what I said about cubics post. Bantering is fun but calling people cheaters and even the entire series..... I am hoping that is not what he is trying to say. Don't need to take a deep breath for it. It takes a lot more than that to even upset me. Question my morals, insult my family - then there will be words. Otherwise it is all good. Some things just cause you to think a little less about a person.

Not that they care one way or the other or should as it is just my opinion.

Baltimore you wild man, how in the health are ya'? I've played that tape a couple of times getting nothing but laughs and a few unfriendly looks from the politically correct bozos. I should have used it last weekend when I worked the motorcycle races sponsored by HOG, the Harley Owners Group, they woulda loved it.

As for the debate, whatever. The most renowned PA stats man (still living there) Bill Meyer once did a survey and came up with the number Outlaws 79%, I value his judgment most.

Bottom line, the CA drivers like Meyers and TK have gone out and won on the road and are heads above any current Posse driver. Last year TK won 15 A-Mains with the NST while Lucas ran mid-pack and this year he's the Posse's best, that tells me something.

More importantly, who cares, just go to the races and cheer these special humans putting their lives on the lines week after week, it's all good. Take It Easy....

Hmmm, Lucas in the "penalty box" and TK in one of the top cars on earth with one of the top crews on earth. That's a fair comparison...

John, fair enough with some of the points you made. But why is the Grove any more unique than Knoxville or Chico or anywhere else in America? Why is that the only place in America where the locals win more than once every 100 forevers?

Since you are from California, I'm sure you have never been to Lebanon Valley (N.Y.). This isn't a shot at you, I realize you live on the other side of the country. But Lebanon Valley is a carbon copy shape and size wise to Williams Grove, and the Outlaws go there every year. Lebanon Valley isn't a weekly Sprint Car track, but the Grove is not the only track in America with that configuration that the Outlaws visit.

I enjoy the debate with you. Unlike some of the other posters on here, I can even enjoy debating with MSPN because even when he disagrees with my opinions, he really has not taken any personal shots at me. As a result, I try to give him that same courtesy.
