Since there is alot of talk about Kyle Larson on here, and comparing him to the other racers, let me say that Shane Stewart needs to be in this conversation.
The guy wins at Knoxville, he wins out west, he wins All Star races, he just wins wherever he goes and in different cars.
After watching him last two years compete in All Star speedweek in Ohio, and at Knoxville Nationals, I must say he is awesome as well.
One thing worth mentioning.........Kyle and Shane both are still aggressive and young...Kyle more so....Because of that, they are willing to take more risks in the car than the veterans do. The older guys are wiser, money racers. Money racers meaning that, they watch the dollars and try and help the car owners survive..because wrecking all of the time gets you put out of a ride....and to a money racer finishing 5th is better than trying for 4th and wrecking into last place money. That is just the hard truth of it. And most of the older guys have families and know what it is like to be without a ride. Will they take chances like Kyle would? Probably not. I am glad to have the chance watch Kyle and Shane right now. They are impressive! And I hope they never have to worry about not having a ride!

When Shane Stewart wins all three of USAC divisions in Four Crown Nationals in one night in his first time ever seeing Eldora, wins a touring stock car series, the Belleville Nationals, Gold Cup, NASCAR truck race - and those are just off the top of my head - and lord knows what else I'm leaving out....in a two-year period, then he can be mentioned. Until then, no.

There is no question that Kyle Larson is awesome. I agree with you that he is great, maybe the most talented driver we have seen in a long, long time. When Kyle gets his chance on the biggest stage, Daytona 500 and Indy 500, he will do well then too. Maybe we will, in the not too distant future, include his name with AJ Foyt and Tony Stewart. Let's hope so!

This is a pretty bad comparison. Shane Stewart's been racing for nearly as long as Kyle's been alive. If I had a winged sprint seat open right now I'd be hard-pressed between these two. I like Stewart nearly as much as any driver, but overall Larson is easily the better of the two.

When Kyle Larson works on the car, drives the hauler, spends a month refurbishing a trailer, thanks everyone on his team(s) in victory lane, and doesn't use his peers as a stepping stone to his(your) dream......then he can be mentioned in the same paragraph as Shane Stewart. Until then, no.

Let me preface this by saying, I have ALWAYS been very impressed watching Shane Stewart.
That said, I think Kyle is a little too busy running so many venues, with so many owners, that it would be hard for him to work on very many of the cars or trailers. He is usually on a red-eye to make the next racing connection that there is no chance or need for him to drive the rig!
All he does is get to every opportunity to drive, now matter where or how far, maintaining his pursuit of a Nationwide win and rookie of the year. It is pretty rare that his performance is disappointing. I said pretty rare, not never disappointing!
The next time I know I'll have the chance to see them compete with each other will be The Trophy Cup and I can't wait!

Huge fan of Shane Stewart--and you are entitled to your opinion--but to me, no comparison. The door that is open to Kyle Larson is open to very, very few drivers. Shane Stewart--great in a sprint car. Kyle Larson--in any machine he wants to drive--and the future is limitless.
As for BLUTEAM--there may be a thread on here somewhere comparing the greatest mechanics and hauler drivers out there--but I believe the argument here is about the race car driver. Stop with the blue collar crap.

Ya right. I can't tell you how impressed I am that Shane Stewart works on a race car, drives the truck, and even more impressive, thanks his crew in victory lane. Awsome! Why I'm sure no other driver out there has done that, and surely not Larson.....
Another hater. When Stewart wins in something other than winged sprint car, like say, a non wing sprint at Osky twice or the 4 Crowns, a midget at Belleville and on asphalt, a silver crown car, a NASCAR truck, a touring NASCAR series title, an asphalt late model, comes within inches of winning a NASCAR Nationwide race at Bristol, and little things like a WoO win at the Chico Gold Cup, Knoxville Nat prelim night win, etc, let us know

Ya, I get it. Wish some of you could. The day we stop with the blue collar crap in a blue collar sport is the day the sport built by blue collar people becomes out of reach for the blue collar guys who the sport needs.
I believe there was no argument. I believe it was an opinion and a wish for. Then someone got personal.
I swear, some of you people must have lottery tickets to see who gets to wipe that kids arse next.

FOR SURE, not Larson.
Not a hater. But if it makes you feel better, keep repeating that in the mirror.

Ever met Kyle (or his dad)? Very humble. Also, give me an example of him using his peers"as a stepping stone"? Sounds like you're jealous.

Why do you insist on making this about me?
My naive and pointed friend - I have nothing and nobody to be jealous of in this life and world. Does that make me better than anyone? No. Does it mean I have to accept that which I don't believe in? No.
GREAT driver and by all accounts, a good kid from a good family. Satisfied? Still not a Shane Stewart who I just want to thank for working hard in a blue collar sport.

Did you miss the part where I squashed the jealousy and hatred rumors? Or are you jus tthat stupid and willing to say the first thing that pops into your head.

Blue collar guy, from a blue collar family, in a blue collar town myself. You miss my point. NO ONE CARES IF HE CAN WORK ON AN ENGINE, OVERHAUL A TRAILER OR DRIVE THE HAULER! He was referring to his racing ability. On the track. Driving a car. Trying to pass people. Trying to win races. No one gives a crap about the rest. If you do--then you are not enjoying the races like the rest of us.
So-to clarify on my blue collar comment--a guy with 1/2 the driving talent that can work on a car and a hauler............has 1/2 the driving talent. I'm a machinist--you think Jeff Gordon gives two craps that he can't machine and I can? I don't really think Kyle Larson wants to know how to wire an f-n trailer. And why the hell should he want to?

Thanks, thats the answer I was looking for. He's no Shane Stewart. Why the hell SHOULD he want to indeed.

Aw, you have such a way with words....unfortunately they don't cover your dislike for a driver nor your feeble attemp to diminish his accomplishments. Trying to make short of the accomplishments of Larson by saying Stewart is a "one man machine" really makes no sense and I seriously doubt Shane would agree with what you are saying about him.
