I saw this article today on ESPN. I normally don't subscribe to bashing people on this forum but the person wrote this is the most sorry excuse for a journalist ever. What ticks me off most about this article is Newton's lack of knowledge about sprint car racing but yet he puts all of these suggestions about how bad and dangerous our form of racing is due to the recent flips Tony has taken the past few weeks and the death of Jason Leffler and worst of all he calls sprint car racing "lower tier racing." Maybe in terms of money and profitability it is lower tier but as far as competition and skill, sprint car racing beats nascar on all accounts. But then again this is coming from a lower tier journalist.

This is the same person that when Jason Leffler died, said that sprint car racing wasn't safe because the tracks don't have safer barriers and the cars were not as advanced in safety as nascar is. I would think that if you were employed by ESPN and you were going to give your opinions that you would do a little research such as noticing that Tony raced sprint cars the same year he won the championship. He has also won multiple races in nascar in the same weeks that he raced 2 or 3 sprint car races. Newton also may not have read a report that stated that a sprint car does not wiegh enough for a safer barrier to even be effective.

So David, next time you spout off your mouth about sprint car racing, maybe you should do a little research about it before you make dumb generalizations about it. And make sure the next time you make a dumb suggestion make sure its not to Tony Stewart who is just going to own you in the next press conference like he did in Richmond last year, and I am hoping that he does because you deserve it.
