If this was discussed on here earlier, I must have missed it.

But I just noticed that there is a good chance that 25 cars will start this year's A Main, with the 25th car transfering from the World Challenge.

I'm not really sure what to think of this. I assume it was done primarily to give the only race at Nationals that had no bearing on determining starting lineups a boost regarding relevance and interest.


I'd be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on this.

I hate to see them start that. So what if the winner is already in does it go to the highest finisher?  What they do now on friday night is something that should have been done 35 years ago.

On the other hand, glad to see they are sticking with the new Friday format. It produced amazing racing last year and the fans loved it.

Personally, I think its BS.    This has always been about earning your way in thru the proper format.  This "cheapens" the event in my eyes..
