Why call it a dirt race if your are going to race on dirt that looks like pavement? Did someone steal the water truck? Should have run ti at IRP!

I thought it was a fun race Rob and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Now as far as the track condition were concerned with those heavy trucks and summer weather, it was exactly as I thought it would be and probably what they were looking for; no dust.. There is no way mere mortals could have had a tacky track with a real cushion under those conditions... Actually the track was not a whole lot different than what a lot of winged show tracks look like during the main.... if I remember correctly.

Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

my thoughts exactly Kenny it was as good a show as some of the sprint car shows I've seen on TV at least the truck had an exuse for wanting a dry rubber down track can you imagine running a heavy track with a windshild lol

I was very much entertained by it all. One thing though. They kept on talking about the dirt ringers that came in. The winner of course was not one of them. However, I think that the announcers let it slip that Austin Dillon and his brother did the tire testing for Goodyear. That does not make dirt track racers. But it gave them a big heads up on how the trucks were going to run at Eldora. Any other series and the other teams would be crying bloody murder.

If I remember correctly, both the Dillon boys ran a fair amount of dirt tracks when they started racing. Not your typical "ringers" but racers with a lot of dirt experience.

You are correct.  Both of them ran dirt quite often.  I saw Austin in a black #3 dirt late model at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN back in '07.  I thought it was an excellent show.  Larson and Newman had a great race going as well.

I thought that it was entertaining.

I would like to see them run at another dirt track.  How about Knoxville?

If Tony ran anything but dry slick you would have whined about the dust.

Ask someone who saw the race in a month who won and he mostlikely won't remember. But the name of Kyle Larson will be engraved on his memory. NASCAR types learn a new phrase, slide jobs! One of those events you can brag on, "I was there". Kinda like Woodstock, don't remember if I was there, but never stopped me from bragging on it.
