Dobmeier has on his website he will be at Jackson and Knoxville both on the 27th. Might be the hardest night of racing ever for one driver. Looks like Brown is at Knoxville. Maybe Lasoski ?

I just got home from working at the track. I dont have my list with me, but I had figured 7 all stars, and 7 of what I kind figure our guys: Skylar, Whitney, Heser, Lusk, Winters, Wasmund and sandvigs car, Which puts us at 14, before any husets, nosa or outsiders, or 360's . Was thinking if we get 4 of the husets guys, 2 nosa, 2 ousiders, we should be looking at 22 and the 360's having a tough decision, as to go 360 or 410.

With these simply pathetic cars counts, maybe the All Stars should race for free at Wilmot next year considering there were a staggering 41 cars there this past Saturday night.

I should call "Todd Todd the Insulation God" and see if he can round up a wing for the 82 Gambler House car with updates for some start and park money.

Should be very interesting to see car counts at the various shows this Saturday. The All-Stars at Jackson, Knoxville's weekly show, the UMSS is at Cedar Lake, and the IRA is in northwest Wisconsin too. I'm sure Knoxville will get their typical 25 to 30 cars, but I'm thinking the conflicting schedules of the other 3 series will have an impact on each other. Hopefully there are enough cars to go around to make each show decent for the fans.

All Stars in Glyndon,MN Sunday nite, 10 miles east of now sadly closed West Fargo track. They should pick up 4 to 10 cars that run in Grand Forks at River Cities Speedway on Friday nites. Glyndon(Buffalo River Speedway) is a little 1/4 miler, should be some wild stuff on that bullring, hopefuly, but 3 (THREE) support classes, come on, 2 to many, give us the mods and drop the others for a big show like this. Hope the track prep can keep up with having 4 classes including big HP sprint cars for first time that I can remember. DUST?

Just a couple quick notes about Sprint Car counts up here in Minnesota. We saw 25 360's at the Saint Croix Valley Raceway on Friday night. The field included Brooke Tatnell and Davey Heskin, both went to Knoxville on Saturday. The UMSS 360's were supposed to race at Cedar Lake last night and nobody tore up any equipment on Friday. We'd have lost those two drivers to Knoxville but Leigh Thomas couldn't make it on Friday and was planning on racing Saturday at CLS so we'd have been at around 24.
Saint Croix Valley Raceway is near St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, about an hour north and east from the Twin Cities. Jackson is about 3 1/2 hours south of the Cities depending on what part of the Metro one lives in. The IRA was scheduled to race at the ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin, on Saturday the same day as the All Star race at Jackson. They usually bring car counts somewhere around the low 20's in their swings over to our area. I'm still looking for information and am not sure what happened at Jackson or how many showed up last night. Some of the UMSS guys used to race the big shows at Jackson before the UMSS was formed but the UMSS gives them a closer option. The Twin Cities Metro area is something like 3 million people so the people and dollars are available to make the UMSS 360's an even bigger show going forward. Most of the UMSS races take place on 1/4's and 3/8's which is easier on equipment than the big half miles. Consequently there are probably some racers running with them that I don't think have ever raced on a half mile. They're generating interest and making fans up in this area and that is where they're concentrating their efforts.
Some of the UMSS racers used to have 410's and would run some of these shows like the All Stars and Outlaws but have either sold those motors or not rebuilt them when they blew up perefering to concentrate on the 360's. I guess my point is that there is more Sprint Car racing in Minnesota and western Wisconsin than Jackson in the southwest corner and NOSA way up in the northwest corner. It's just not on the most people's radar because they don't hear about it.
We saw a great battle between Davey Heskin and Brooke Tatnell on Friday night. Heskin won followed by Tatnell with Jason Tostenson, Scotty Thiel, Chris Graf and former modified standout Rick Kobs all dicing it out behind them on the tight quarter mile. Jackson is four hours from my home, Ashland is about that same distance, Grand Forks is five hours and Saint Croix Valley and Cedar Lake are a half hour from the end of the driveway. We've got a good thing going up here with the UMSS so I just wanted to put that out there so people know there is some great Sprint Car racing up here. If you ever come to the Twin Cities on business or vacation by all means make sure you check out a UMSS race. It's kind of off most people's radar but we've got some great Sprint Car racing with full fields starting the A Mains.

P.S. You can check out clips from the Saint Croix Valley Raceway both UMSS winged 360's and the UMSS non-wing Traditional Sprints at meeksvideo.com
SCVR drew over 30 cars to their two day show the Open Wheel Nationals a few weeks ago. I haven't been keeping up with results from other tracks but so far I'd say the UMSS could hold it's own in a car count comparison with places like Grand Forks, Jackson and Husets.
