Knoxville, IA – 99 wins is a huge tally. It means you were the best of the best for one night, 99 times over your career. And to do it all at one track, the world’s most famous dirt track, is an accomplishment all to its own. For Danny Lasoski, 99 wins at Knoxville Raceway is not the goal, but a stepping stone to the ultimate achievement – 100 wins in the 410 division and a shot at another Knoxville Nationals win.
Back in his own equipment, the potent Lasoski Motorsports #33 rolled out of the trailer at Knoxville on Saturday night, ready to do battle in preparation for the Knoxville Nationals in three weeks. With a sharp looking black paint scheme and chrome components all over, Danny took to the track and was 9th quick out of the box. With a narrow surface, Lasoski found his way into an A Main transfer late in his heat race, and with an 8 invert, rolled out for the feature with an inside row two starting spot. “The Dude” showed his potency on the initial start driving underneath Tasker Phillips and into the lead coming out of turn two before Phillips jumped the rear tire of second place Brandon Wimmer, causing a red flag. This shuffled Lasoski to the top starting spot. Danny drove his Kistler Powered Triple X out to an early advantage on the high groove, a change from his usual line around the lower half of the speedway. From there, his veteran savvy and moxie helped him weave in and through traffic on his way to win #99 at the big ½ clay oval. “Our car got way better in time for the main – credit to the guys at Triple X and my guys in the pits for a great job adjusting me and getting me to victory lane here at Knoxville. It’s so hard to win here and to do it 99 times is incredible. Would be a great chapter in my book if we could make #100 be at the Saturday night of the nationals!” said Danny post race.
Danny would like to thank Chris Strait and his family for all their help, as well as Ditzfield Transport, CCI, Klein Motors and RV’s, Triple X and all his other fine sponsors. Danny will be in action once again next weekend at Knoxville Raceway in preparation for the 2013 FVP Knoxville Nationals.
