please enlighten us some more. so far you've simply made a contrarian statement, with no reasoning. I'm guessing you're bored & trying to be incendiary? you feel powerful cause you have an opinion that most people on here won't agree with? are you made cause he mentioned a hockey score during a race?

While I deplore his music, and thank God I am in the pits and don't have to hear it, he is a top-notch announcer and I don't know any better at calling a sprint car race. Stan must still be smarting from the non-Posse winner last night!

Back story........Rick Echelman is no longer the announcer for the WoOLM's...It's of my opinion that if they had to get rid of one, they got rid of the wrong one...

IMO John Gibson is a national treasure. He's the Vin Scully of Sprint Cars
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

WOW! You're truly an idot. Johnny Gibson is an icon in our sport. I often don't care for the music that he plays and his politcal views but there is no doubt that he is truly amazing at what he does. I listen to every race because of him

No one announcing today is a Jack Miller. Period.
I did hear a guy on a USAC broadcast from Putnamville last week that was impressive. No fake excitement, just pure racing information.
