With the heat boiling most of the day Friday regular racing resumed as everyone was in their just try to stay cool mood. Low and behold one of those pop up showers formed to the West of the track and it became cloudy and was raining in Leavenworth. The temperature dropped to a fairly comfortable level and we raced.
Darron Fuqua the points leader in the USRA mods went racing with the USMTS up in Nebraska so Tim Karrick had the chance to make up some ground in the points race.
After seeing maybe the largest crowd in Lakeside history Tuesday Friday night was just a modest gathering, I think everyone spent their racing money for the big race Tuesday and the hot weather may have kept some race fans home.
With the racing season already being over halfway done we talked with the points leaders of each class to see how they were doing and what they expected for the 11 weeks remaining.
I will have an in car video coming later today just did not have time to put it together last night so watch for that. Also watch for the slow motion replay of the a-mod feature. Five of the track officials made the same call that Nic Bidinger won the race, if you can stop the video at 56:34 which is where the finish line is supposed to be. I know it is pretty fussy but that the way it is. Enjoy.
