The All Star Circuit Of Champions make a stop at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, SD Sunday night. Point leader Dale Blaney, 4 time defending All Star champion Tim Shaffer and the rest of the circuit just wrapped up action in New York and now move into the Midwest. They face the drivers at Huset's including one who has beaten them in the past. Racing at 7pm.

Super Chuck says don't waste your time on this dump, and that is no reflection on the All Stars.
Out of the woodwork, Super Chuck

Mark,
Can we expect a overwatered track, outrageous concessions, and more taxicab classes than you can shake a stick at for only $25.00?
Count me in

donimus,
I am in no way arguing with you about your issues. Rather than just ignore the questions, my style is to give you straight honest answers on what I can. Please know that some of the areas I can give you exact answers, and others I have no damn clue. Let's get those out of the way first. Track watering and concessions are two things I have no involvement at all. I have never been on the inside of a concession stand anywhere nor have I sat in a water truck. For your sake and everyone else's let's be thankful for both of those because it would be a disaster. I only work in promoting the sport and only events that I honestly believe will be a good race.
Let's clear up the taxicab stick shaking. I have exact answers on this. 4 classes will run with hte 410 action:
- Street Stocks- very competitive and presentable cars. Veteran drivers, aftermarket chassis, roller cams and I would say around 16 of them
- Hobby Stocks- these guys race good and hard. My guess would be 2 heats and a 12 lap A
- B mods- a couple heats and a 12 lapper
- Micro sprints- 600cc @ 10 grand on the tach. Pretty fun to watch. they put on a good show and a quick one.
I'm not selling, only answering.
Finally I get to where I have something to say. The 410's, it should be a good race! Huset's has ran a total of 9 All Star events going back to 2008. Shaffer has won 3 of them, McCarl 2 and Dobmeier 1. Those 3 will be there and we know they are a threat. Sott Winters from Butterfield, MN won in 2009. He could possibly show up as he's been known to do. Rico Abreu has the event on his schedule. Rico with a top 5 at the WoO event at Huset's and Q.T within a tenth of a second of the track record. Other cars would be former track champion Lynton Jeffrey, Jason Solwold and the man that leads the All Star points, Dale Blaney. I'm stopping right here. There's 8 very possible winners. I'm looking for 25+ cars. It definitely has the components of a very good show. I'm praying for everything else to fall into proper order because I'm like you, I'm a race fan. I'd sure like to see you come if you decide to. If not, I respect that too. It's a free country brudda.
Mark

Husets will prolly just rain out any way, they called them off last weekend at noon cuz they had a little rain in the morning, but a few weeks before that they had almost 10" of rain overnight and they still had the races on sunday night! Sure seems to me that when they want to get a show in the can do so but when people want to be lazy fucks then nothing happens! I know any body can do what they want but myself i will not be going to husets for this race ofr many others cuz i'm not going to deal with the bullshit! Also looking in every bodys bag when they come thought the gate is bullshit for sure and needs to stop, when us people come to the races and pay what you ask to get in you dont start treating us like shit asfter that and look in ever bodys bag to see if they have a pop or beer in there really who cares if some body does!

I completely understand the sentiments of donimus. The WoO show was horribly operated and there's just no defending the way the event played out. Huset's would be wise to issue an apology of sorts to those that have supported the venue for so many years. I think this is unlikely but I also think it would go a long way toward removing the bitter taste in many race fans mouths.

Mark Tassler,
First off, you do a really good job at Husets with the announcing, I really respect your work. I had been going to Husets every week from the ages of 8-24 but after my dad died I quit going as often because he is who I went with. I'm 30 now and I brought my girlfriend with me to the WOO show on July 3rd, she is not a race fan, but I thought she would have fun and maybe get into it more. I was hoping she would want to go every week and I would have someone new to go with. Well I just want to tell you personally that I am never coming back after that night. We stood for 4 hours before we left because there was no seating. We left before a heat race even started. My girlfriend was pissed at me for taking her there. All told, I spent about $100 on tickets and concessions, was treated rudely by two members of security, and I didn't even see a race. It really hurts me that I am never coming back, Husets is a special place to me and I have a lot of great memories there. I always tried to defend the place, it does have it's faults, but when the track is right there is not a better place to watch a race.
The money to me wasn't a big deal, I can afford it. It really bothers me that some people probably strectched their budget to take their families and that was the show they got. I'm sorry I can't defend Husets anymore, I won't be coming back, you guys lost me forever that night.
Respectfully,
Nick Erstad

Mark, Nick hit the nail on the head with all his comments. The best things Rubins could do is offer a public apoligy and then give everyone a half off admission or something to try to mend the fences. Also bring in some outside concession help so people dont have to stand in line that long. Also the searching at the gate is simple ridiculous. Look at the pile of seeds, peanuts and candy that is being taken from these people, it dont amount to shit. I think if Husets put the fans and the drivers first they would be money ahead. But this has been said for over 20 years and nothing has changed. Once they see the empty seats Sunday night maybe they will smell the coffee.

It's been a couple weeks since I've been to a race, but I'm having a really hard time giving Husets more money after the WoO show, and I love the All Stars....
Its a crappy feeling.
