I just got a steering wheel for the game thinking that would be fun to play with.  Does anyone have any idea how to calibrate it so it isn't so touchy?

The car is going to be squirrely no matter how you drive it. It's a pretty basic game and the designers didn't put a ton of time into it.

Is there anything you can do to slow down the controls so they are not so touchy?

I have tried thutoo with the Microsoft wheel. It sucks. No steering in between extreme left and right. Only use it for Dirt 3.

So if I go to the setups, there are a couple of ways to slow it down and not have it be so loose?  Good news.

Regardless of what you do it will be too touchy. Like was said earlier, rfactor sounds like the game for you. The intial cost is $20, the downloadable addons from there on out are free. Can race almost any type of car at a wide variety of tracks. It is a computer game btw

I'm going to help whomever makes the next game; USE THE DAMN RATBAG PHYSICS/ETC, just modernize it, add lots of tracks, make it real pretty, lots of front end variables. forza type front end, OLD SCHOOL RATBAG racing physics nailed it. I want to love the last WoO game but I can't. it's terrible.

rFactor physics blow Ratbag physics out of the world. The Ratbag physics were much better than most but still left a lot to be desired.

I have to add, the AI of the cpu cars in the ratbag games was awesome! they would hammer you occasionally (just like real life!) & any mistake dropped you a few positions. that was one of the best parts of that game.

The AI for rFactor is pretty awful but it's more geared towards a multiplayer mode. The engine the game runs on is based off of asphalt so teaching the AI to run different is very difficult - it's programmed to drive it straight and smooth.

The big benefit to rFactor is that you pay for one game license and then have access to a ton of different mods: Winged 410s and 360s, wingless 410s, Midgets, Micros, Late Models, Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, etc. Basically anything on dirt. I believe there's even a mod built around Classic Sprints. If PowerSlave is still around, he was involved with that and always made great stuff (both mods and tracks).

Skins and tracks are both way more developed than any other dirt game in history. Tons of skins, tons of tracks, just all sorts of stuff.

Here's a few videos that kind of give you an idea.
