Elma, WA – “When you find something that works, don’t mess with it.” Words spoken directly out of the mouth of Kyle Miller after sweeping the weekend features with the Northwest Wingless Tour at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA. It was the 19th time that Kyle put that particular Triple X chassis in victory lane over the course of his career.
The two nights of racing were completely different, yet yielded the same result. On Friday, Miller timed in second quick and by virtue of a 6 row invert, started 11th in his main event after winning his heat. Kyle methodically worked his way to the front of the field and took over the lead around the mid point of the main for his first win of the weekend and 18th total in this particular chassis. On Saturday night, Miller was the fast qualifier and had the pole for the main after picking a zero invert. From there, it was complete domination, as Miller was never challenged and ended up winning by almost ¾ of a lap at the 3/8 mile oval. “We brought this car out a long time ago, and it really doesn’t matter if it’s running with a wing of without, it’s just awesome. I have a brand new XXX sitting on the shop floor, but I don’t really want to assemble it because this one has been so good. I mean, 19 wins speaks for itself really” said Kyle after the races. “On a big racey track like Elma, it’s super important to be able to put your car wherever the groove is, and we had that all weekend. In the last A Main, I was on the top, but could get low to slide guys when I needed to as traffic got heavy. We were just so balanced, and that let us roll the bottom in the heats to go from 6th to 2nd (on Saturday) and then blast the cushion up top in the main.”
Kyle would like to thank his family and girlfriend Kady for helping him chase his dreams, as well as sponsors Gary’s Subaru Service and Grant Springer Racing Engines.
