Where do you think this race ranks among other top 410 races in the country? Keep in mind it is the only program all year where the WoO Sprints run two full features in one night. Just curious on everyone's thoughts.

The field is one of the strongest single day shows in the country annually. With the Outlaws, All-Stars, Posse and Lernerville guys sprinkled in it's a very, very good show. I'll be out there this year again. Hoping Mother Nature cooperates, she hasn't been very kind to Pennsylvania racing this year.

Purse wise it's 4th nationally in total purse. They announced last night it's going back to 15k to win each feature. As sad as the gold cup has become, I'd still put it ahead of the silver cup in terms of prestige.
I'd rank them as follows:
1. Knoxville
2. Kings royal
3. National open
4. Gold Cup
5. Silver Cup

I feel like since it went to a twin feature format it has reduced the luster of the event a bit. Lernerville is such a great track that making two winners out of the format reduces the honor of winning the crown. Inverted A mains aren't always a great reflection of who is the best (see twin feature night at Knoxville's winner list since 2000). Now add a 50k bonus to win both or make the 2nd lineup set by fan vote adds some drama.
I've always felt that making a classic race means creating a classic format. WoO generally isnt a beacon of fresh ideas and at this level where you line up means everything. Also not offering a reliable PPV feed and the opportunity to purchase viewing of a big event is leaving out a great majority of potential fans. The demand and technology are there so why not try to make some money from it. Me personally I am practically begging to give a PPV internet site my $$ for the chance to see live coverage and I'm sure I'm not alone
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

I agree that it has lost it's luster since becoming a double feature. Too many breakdowns in second feature IMO. We were talking about it at Eldora last night. Used to be a cant miss race. Just my 2 cents...

GOLD CUP is a joke of what it once was many years ago. Promoter ran it in the ground with no promotions and just rode the horse til it dropped. The new promoter is the puppet for the old guy so Gold Cup is at best Bronze Cup. I'm from Chico and put Silver Cup miles ahead of Bronze Cup, I mean Gold Cup.

Wow I certainly differ about the God Cup. I think it is still great.
I have never attended the Silver Cup but I find the two feature events quite intriguing. I would love to attend.
