Still trying to get to a wingless race in Indiana (June 2 rained out after mad dash from KC area, Sprintweek doesn't work with my schedule). So I'm gonna try to see 1 or 2 on my way to Knoxville from East Coast. I see 3 options on the schedule for Aug3: Haubstadt, Lawrenceburg, or Lincoln Park.
Any suggestions? I'll be on I-70 but have plenty of time to get there....

I have not been there, but have heard respected racers speak highly of Haubstadt.
"I'd pay $15 to watch a sprint car sit still."

You have them in the proper order... A) Haubstadt B) Lawrenceburg C) Lincoln Park
They don't call Haubstadt 'The Class Track' for nothing..

I love the Burg, one of the best facilities in the country. Can't go wrong with Haubsadt either.

Can't really go wrong with Haubstadt or Lawrenceburg. They're both racey joints. Haubstadt a bit shorter, builds a little better cushion. Lawrenceburgs corners are tall and the banking steep so it's a little more of a momentum track. Both are nice facilities and track prep is also top notch at each. You could see a real dog fight on any given night at either one. I recomend sitting midway between the flagstand and turn 1 at both but that's just me. Anyway, enjoy.

Thanks for the input, everyone.
OKracer: Yep, I've been to 360 Finals last 2 years & it was fun. Just want to try something different & trying to make up for missing Indiana speedweek. I like wingless, have been to Eastern Storm but there wasn't much local competition for USAC boys. Looking forward to my 3rd Ultimate Challenge too (will Larson show???)
Are the Haubstadt races 410s? Lawrenceburg is BOSS series; how good is that? Which race will draw the better drivers & cars?
Feel free to chime in, folks

The Haubstadt show is MSCS, which is nonwing 410 (like the rest of Indiana). MSCS runs a 100% Indiana schedule, while BOSS (Buckeye Outlaw Super Sprints -- also nonwing 410) only has 2 shows in IN on their schedule, both at the Burg. I would assume that the regular Sat night cars at the Burg will still be there for the BOSS show. The Haubstadt show will likely draw a few USAC guys since it's $5k to win and they don't have another race that night. I'm not sure if you get MavTV and caught the Flip the Switch episode from the 6/15 MSCS show at Haubstadt... but if you did... that should be reason enough to make your decision a very easy one!

Waynesfield Speedway in Waynesfield, Ohio is running their annual Jack Hewitt Classic on Aug 3rd. Always a great race. Waynesfield is about an hour north of I-70, on I-75. Great little bullring, and any race named after Jack has got to be good!

MSCS at Haubstadt and an off night for USAC kinda seals the deal. Nothin against the Burg, I love the joint, but in this case Haubstadt is the place to go.

Thanks for the words of wisdom! Went to Haubstadt last nite, after long haul from Williams Grove Friday nite. Wingless on the bullring was excellent, enjoyed it more than the Grove, easily. Someone suggested Kokomo for tonite, which I would do in a minute if it was on the way to Iowa... no backtracking after yesterday's drive, 506 miles from New Stanton, Pa. to Haubstadt, on 4 hrs. sleep. Figured I'd need to drive at least to Pittsburgh area after WG to make it on time to Indiana, did just that, hurtin' on the drive yesterday (I'm sick of coffee!)made it to Tri-State just in time for 1st heat as I was walking from parking lot. This race chasin' stuff is hard work (what a guy won't do to have fun!)
On to Iowa, taking my time today. If I miss Capitani Clasic, I'll be OK...

You would be the Maytag repairman if you went to Kokomo tonight,as they are dark till the Kokomo Smackdown in a few weeks.
We all went to Waynsefield for the Jack Hewitt Classic, with 37 cars and saw Dallas Hewitt win by an in or so over Chad Boesflug, who won a great one at Gas City the night before.
For those coming east after Knoxville and want to see a pretty good race, dive to Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville Illinois next Sunday night for POWRi midget's Arnie Knepper Memorial race.

Arrived in Iowa about an hour late for Capitani Classic, blew it off for some rest, lots of racing coming up...
I think Haubstadt might have converted me. WIngless on a bullring is outrageous!

Your loss! There was more talent in that 81 car field than a Nationals qualifying night! The track was fairly slick and there was some incredible racing in the heats and B-Mains!! Kevin stunk up the show in the A... but still a good night of racing.

Yeah there is a reason some of us choose to move to Indiana, and as I aways tell people "I didnt move here to look at corn"!
You've got to pick up the pace if you want to chase races. My old "Piece of Shit van" made it from Haubstadt to Knoxville in plenty of time for the races, albeit missing some sleep along the way. That van would go fom 0 to 60 in 7 miles, certainly no powerhouse.
