Another Big Night of Racing set at RPM for Friday July 12

7/9/13 (Crandall, TX) by DarinShort.com. As the 2013 racing season progresses, the action continues to build at the newly reconfigured RPM Speedway in Crandall Texas. This Friday night, July 12th, will be no different as five race divisions will be in competition atop the 1/4 black dirt oval.

The July 12th racing program will include the USRA Modifieds, Limited
Modifieds, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks - which will all be racing heats and features.

Plus, the traveling North Texas STARS Racing Series will round out the 5-division racing card - with their second visit to RPM in 2013.

At the time of writing, race time temperatures in the mid-90's and dry conditions are forecast falling into the 80's during the racing program. Not to worry, as the RPM Speedway Snow Cone machine will be churning out instant relief - in a multitude of tongue-pleasing flavors.

Speaking of things heating up, so are the points battles. Here's the top-line in each of the RPM points divisions, after the July 5th event:

-USRA Modifieds: Bobby Ruffin leads Charlie Smith by a scant 8 points.

-RaceSaver Sprint Cars: (their next race is a double feature on 7/19) The top 5 in points are separated by just 12 points, with Michael Lang leading.

-Limited Modifieds: Jason Gore leads Tommy Davis Jr. by 21 points.

-Street Stocks: Chris Davis has a commanding lead over Tim Clonch; 61 points separate the two drivers.

-Factory Stocks: Brian Marusak leads Johnny Lowey by 10 points.

Inside the RPM Speedway program fans can pick up the latest track points, which are inserted into it each week.

Here are the racing highlights for Friday July 12th:

- The USRA Modifieds ($600/win and $100/start), Limited Modifieds
($500/win), Street Stocks ($400/win) and Factory Stocks ($300/win) will
all run heats and features. There are no entry fees in any division.
Reminder to Factory Stock teams: powerglide transmissions are legal - as
long as the car races with asphalt pull off tires on all four corners.

- The NTSRS will run heats and a feature race.

Here is the schedule for Friday July 12th:

PIT GATE OPENS at 5:30pm

GRANDSTANDS OPEN at 6pm

MANDATORY* WHEEL PACKING 7pm (ALL CARS, ALL CLASSES)

DRAW CUT OFF & HOT LAPS at 7:30pm SHARP

FIRST GREEN FLAG is at 8pm SHARP

REGULAR GRANDSTAND TICKET PRICES ($12 for adults) and pit passes ($30 for all ages) are in effect, with no driver entry fees in any division.

*Mandatory Wheel Packing from 7-7:30 for all cars in all classes. If your car does not wheel pack by 7:30 (at the time of the draw cutoff), you will start your heat race at the tail of the field and there are no passing points for those drivers. This applies to all drivers in all race divisions.
