Here is the information:
Sunday night at Huset’s Speedway, the $5000 to win outlaw sprint race was called off right at the conclusion of the time trials where Terry McCarl had set the quick time for the event at 11.162 seconds. A storm system packing heavy rain and wind had the track right in it’s path.
Track officials made the decision to postpone the event before the weather hit. And they made an excellent call at the right time.
The fans and race teams were able to depart before the weather moved in. After that, it was a massive downpour of rain.
A bit of a letdown for everyone that was set for a night of racing for sure, but it was good to get everyone out before getting drenched. And the event that paid $5000 to the winner of the outlaw sprints will still happen, only at a later date.
The sponsors, Scott Bolte Sanitation and Bolte’s Roll Off Service, have agreed to make the event up on Sunday September 1st. That is the Sunday night of Labor Day weekend.
The new date should be super for race teams and fans as it will add to the Sunday/ Monday Labor Day weekend double header. And will be the final chance for outlaw sprint racers to get qualified for the $10,000 to win event that runs the following Sunday Setember 8th.
