He's not here yet, and I think it's doubtful he will be here. He left for Daytona at4 or so this morning, and the cars based in Pa. Rico Abreu is here at the track though.

10:05pm and TIME TRIALS just ended per various posts and twitter and facebook

I live in Brandon and it took my relatives over an hour to go 2 miles to the track.

Traffic was backed up from Husets all the way to the Interstate and about 20 -30 cars on the off ramp and interstate

Husets tonight was the biggest fucking joke ever. I have been going there since I was 8 years old and I am never going back again. Ever.

I came in on the north end. The line to get in was HUGE, easily a thousand people just in line. This was around 6:15 or so. Their system to get in was a giant line with a clusterfuck at the end. They had a clusterfuck because they let about two people in and the person checking your ticket also searched bags. They were throwing away peoples seeds and water and stuff right at the door. When I got in, the security dude looked was busy searching bags, I asked "Do you need my ticket or what?" His response was that you can wait, the races start the same time for everyone, dripping with sarcasm. I told him that they might want to let more than two people in at time and to get the line moving.

When we got in all the grandstands were full but there was still plenty of room on the grass hill on the north end. We picked a spot there but holy shit, that hill is steep, it was basically like squatting not sitting. After about a half hour of sitting there we decided standing would be better, so we found a spot on the midway. Every 20 minutes or so some security guy would come by and make us stand behind this line that was painted on the ground. Logically we should be standing in front of the line because the concession stands were behind us but since the Rubins have no clue what crowd control is or how it works we kept getting moved back.

I'm not sure they really know what track prep is either because it wasn't ready. Around 9 they got the grader out to do some laps, they hadn't run hot laps yet and were an hour late and they get the grader out! Meanwhile I have been standing there for 2.5 hours with my girlfriend who is not a racefan. She was not impressed at all and really wanted to sit down. Eventually the push off hot laps and get to time trials which wrapped up at 10:30! When the late models took the track, we left. I didn't even see a heat race. I have never, ever left a race before any of the features and I certainly have never left a race early that I paid $35 to see. All told I spent $92 at the track on my girlfiriend and myself tonight. I can afford it but I feel really bad for the family's that are on a budget that chose to go to the show tonight. Even if they got there early enough to get a seat, they still would have had to be there for 5 hours before time trials were over. Huset's, and especially the Rubins, should be ashamed of themselve's.

Its sad to say but whenever I go to Huset's I usually expect to leave unhappy about the experience.

I was considering going tonight with my two young sons, I'm glad we stayed home.

Makes you wonder how many Huset's first timers will want to ever go back to the "Home of the Professionals" after tonight.

Promoters pull this kind of crap on the night they have an over flow crowd then cry and moan the next time they have a big show and pull a small crowd! Did they not think they would get a big crowd or just too cheap to hire extra help?

Thank you frenchy ! Was at santa maria speedway in cali. last weekend. What a fucking joke ! Been going since 1978. Love the sprints and plenty of travel to see them in this state. Moreover, one yellow shirt with security on it at that track is rude, impolite and, down right an asshole. By the way SIX ! 360 sprints. Bullshit. Why take new people to see this at 18 bucks each. Then on way home at midnite, try and sell them its not the norm. Fuck, I love sprint car racing ! But dont have four other fender classes and shithead security, by the way Bud Keading walked off with promoters three grand.USAC west coast 360s this weekend No thanks ! Vanderwerds twins in Indiana anyway. Peace Out Geo. P. Mann
Peace, Out.

Congratulations Nick Erstad for signing your name to a scathing post. I don't mind people remaining anonymous for chit-chat on here but to rip people by name and sign your name pretty well tells me you have no axe to grind and your post must have merit.

Last time I went to a WoO show at Husets was way back in about 2005. I got there early so I had no problems but later on there was a looooooong line of cars waiting to get into the parking area. I don't know if there were police helping direct traffic. Also not sure what the situation was at the turnstile but they obviously need to employ a different approach for those nights when the crowd will be larger than usual. I could understand if it was a new operation or they'd never hosted a WoO show before but c'mon, it's not rocket science, just figure it out and get it done.

yes total fuster cluck, apparently there is no law about how many people you can let in in a outdoor venue. after all the seats were taken they sold another 5000 tickets. they had no intentions of limiting the ticket sales. seen several families with small children with no place to sit and then start 2 hours late because the track was way over watered. it would not have been so bad if they had started on time. and if you wanted connsessions plan

on standing in line for 45 minutes.

The racing was great, but the way the show was ran was an insult to every single fan in attendance. $hame.

For those that stayed, what time did you get out of the parking lot? I have had to wait over an hour to get out for a regular outlaw show before...

And the owners of Huset's Speedway are smiling all the way to the bank.

They could care less about what all happened last night.

Seats were crammed, I can deal with it as I go to the Knoxville Nationals where you get a seat the size of one cheek. It was a late (early???) night... I can also put up with it since I didn't have to wake up for work this morning. Everything started much later than advertised... also won't complain too much about that (if it would have been a worth while delay). It would have all been ok if they would have put on a halfway decent show. They took how long to prep that track and it was still garbage. I'm sure glad they had the water truck going around when I got there... It made for an entertaining muddy mess to try and pack in with street stocks. They had to tow some of them out of the corner because they just slid to the bottom. What a circus. Heat races were follow the leader.... which I guess I expect from a WoO show. But even the feature was just plain bad. There were 2 lines... barely. Enough space to be side by side but just not enough room to actually race.

I hope Husets wasn't planning on gaining fans with their Tony Stewart promotion. They packed the stands and showed everyone what kind of a show they run. I wouldn't blame anyone that made it their last trip to the track. As for me, I will continue to go every week simply because I am a sprintaholic. At least weekly shows are cheaper and I have a room for both cheeks wink

Frenchy, I got onto Hiway 11 heading South at 1:56 AM and then had about a 45 minute drive home and I did fracture some speed limit laws. I was home at about 2:45 AM. After the races, I figured the best thing to do would be to wait around a while and let the biggest custerfluck clear out. All in all, can't blame the racers but the promotor(s) very clearly screwed the pooch on this deal. RHC, they may be smiling now but it will come back to bite them in the ass in the future.

I hope that Tony comes back next year to the World of Outlaws show @ Huset's.

I'd really be curious how many fans show up. I think a lot of race fans are willing to give it a 2nd chance by going out there. And for the ones who are pissed off & obviously won't go back will probably be replaced by other fans who didn't go this year.

Would it be a total sellout like Wednesday night, probably not. But I wouldn't be surprised if practically every seat would be filled though.
