There is a car running some with the WoO powered by a Ford engine, built by one of the most famous builders in the world, owned by a NASCAR champion, driven by a guy with better credentials than half their regulars and they don't even acknowledge it. They don't even have a picture much less an article on their web site. They stack the rules against the program from the start and then ignore it although it can drive right by their point leader. Considering their stars are ready for a late retirement and about half of NASCAR success stems from brand competition, its crazy. I guess since their stock is so strong they don't have to be concerned with promoting something remotely new and different. Even a chevy guy that loves the sport should be irritated with such ignorance.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Glad you wrote this paragraph but what good will it do,they, the WoO are anti alot of things like changing their format some and pooling the races into certain geographic regions instead of driving right by certain tracks only to return by driving 800 miles e.g. to finally run at that track, why not when they are in Charlotte around memorial day run bulls gap again, but know they ran there when it was freezing cold with a wind just fill the schedule.

NASCAR had the "Chevy vs ford" thing because they ran stock cars. It's not such a big deal now that all cars are basicly the same. I never have heard any brand talk at sprint car races. Don't see fans cheering for only Maxim chassis cars, and really other than mithless never hear any fan say "I only like so & so cause of the make of motor or chassis he uses". When sprint car fans talk about motors it is always Ott, Wesmar, Kriener, Garrett etc. not ford, Chevy or Mopar.

Yeah, what Oswald said.

Besides, those aren't really any particular brand of motor. They are high performance time bombs just waiting to ignite...and it makes no difference if it is brand "C" or "T" or "F" or whatever.

You pay any engine builder his price and he'll build you a motor even if you want a Hudson Hornet!

In his 8 races with the WoO this year, his best finish is 8th. Hard to sell any product with mediocre finishes. Nobody wants to hear how bad they need to spend 50k plus on a Roush Yates Ford to finish no better than 8th. David Gravel just won with an old Mopar. If Johnson were as good as advertised, then he'd be on the WoO tour. The paydays are a lot higher than ASCS. I am not a Ford/Chevy/Mopar guy either, so that has nothing to do with it. I'm just purely looking at his results. I do agree the WoO schedule should be streamlined to help travel costs.

Your right, Jason Johnson's World of Outlaws Credentials are excellent. He's what again, 3rd of 4th in all time WoO wins? Oh, wait a minute, I had to scroll down a long ways to even find his name on the WoO all time wins column, and there is a 1 by his name. Did that 1 win even come in the Stenhouse car? If the Stenhouse camp wants some press with the Outlaws they can do 2 different things, either win a race or sign a platinum full time contract with them. Otherwise the Outlaws owe them the same amount of single team promotion as any other show up racer.

Minthess, if you want to talk about other motor manufacturers, why don't you talk about someone that won last weekend, David Gravel, and I believe he had a mopar in there.

Oswald, I agree with your statement, and this board is proof that pretty much 99% of sprint car fans don't really care what kind of motor is being used.

I always get a chuckle out of statements that say "an 8th place finish with WOO is merely mediocre!" I would be pretty damn happy with an 8th place finish with WOO. Everything else withstanding of course, I don't think Sprint Car fans care much about the make of the engine. I only know of two other people who care whether it is a Ford or a Chevy, or a Mopar, and they aren't tied to the sport at all. I would love to see Ford have success as well. Fords are all I drive as daily drivers, but my Sprint Car has a Chevy in it. That is just practical.

When someone claims another driver is the greatest thing on the planet, then yes, 8th is mediocre. Remember, I am trying to keep it context. If someone's marketing plan is to sell expensive motors based on 8th place finishes, they're not going to sell many engines. It needs to produce wins and lots of them.

If the car and driver were a full-time WOO team, I'm sure they'd get their fair share of marketing and promotion. Why would they want to market someone that only runs a handful of WOO races? Should they do it for every local car that runs a handful of shows with the WOO?

Is it even worth asking if the Ford 410 is anywhere near as good as the Ford 360? Also, JJ would be in for a long year unless his driving style drastically changed.

From that perspective I get it, but you have to admit that it is sad that 8th place against the best in the business is not good enough. But I understand where you are coming from, and from that aspect you would be correct.

If I had committed to running full-time with the WoO and was spending the major bucks for a top-notch team I would NOT be satisfied running for 8th place. Just my thoughts.

10-4 SprintFan 16. Changes indeed. Could never figure out why he always need to twitch or pitch the right rear into a corner.

Maybe in a 360, but you must finesse even a high powered beast of 410 racing for the best results.

Been there, worked with, seen that!!

Your post is so factually incorrect it makes you look like a moron but hey you've been proving that adage for years in this forum with this idiotic ramble. Give it a rest, nobody gives a crap.

I have ownded 2 fords in my life, my Mustang was stolen and flipped and the only thing that ticked me off was I had a brand new pair of golf shoes in the trunk that somebody lifted. I foolishly owned a Windstar that went through 2 Transmissions in less than a year, something they were famous for doing I found out later, easily the worst vehicle I have ever owned and I have owned a very wide variety of vehicles in my time on this planet....

I am certain WoO would love to sell some advertising to Roush-Yates-Stenhouse-Johnson-Ford on their website.

Graval's Mopar aint bad either and they ignore that as well.  Who cares about the hundreds of thousands of potential fans that are either Ford guys or Dodge guys anyways?  Lets just continue to only cater to the people that only care about the driver!

My opinion of the WoO is that the biggest thing the did for sprints nationwide was raise the price to compete. The dollars pour off of the cars just like in the Geico commercial.

I tell it like I see it.

I'm sure an owner wants to spend  $500K (and UP)  a year to run 8th.    Eighth place pays $2,100 and if you ran 8th 60 times a years that's $126K.  That MIGHT get three motors with no money left over to refresh them.  Yeah I can see where running 8th is good...in YOUR eyes!  Running 8th is worse than kissing an ugly woman after 3 AM!

Jason is good in ASCS but has a long ways to go got get to the level of an Outlaw. More WoO races and it will come. That Ford won't win races by itself.
