Lake Odessa, MI – The Hoffman Auto Racing Team and Brady Bacon have been a model of consistency in 2013, scoring top five performances almost nightly in their 2013 USAC National Sprint Car campaign. The only thing missing was the elusive 82nd national win – "was" being the operative word. On Saturday night, Bacon and the Hoffman crew celebrated in victory lane at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI after a banner performance from the team and the "Broken Arrow Bandit".
After losing Friday night's race at Terre Haute due to extreme wet weather, Bacon and the crew departed for I-96 after a morning maintenance session that revealed broken teeth in the gears. With that potential problem solved in advance, Brady rolled the potent Mean Green, Mopar Powered #69 Triple X out for a good hot lap session and even better time trial lap, setting a new track record that was barely beaten toward the end of the run. With a good lap layed down, the team focused on improving the car through the heat race and putting Brady in a position to make a run in the A Feature. After qualifying through his heat, Bacon started inside row three and established early that he'd have the speed he needed to contend. Brady began challenging for the lead around lap ten, and just after the midpoint of the 30 lap main, took the point from Bryan Clauson in convincing fashion. Brady kept a commanding lead during green flag conditions, eventually rolling the car into victory lane for the first time in 2013.
The Hoffman Auto Racing team will be in action next on July 4th at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN. Brady Bacon and the Brady Bacon Racing team are out on the road seeking glory on Ohio Speedweek this week, and Pennsylvania Speedweek thereafter, with Brady running an astounding 14 races in 16 days over that period of time.
