I assume they're banking on drawing some visiting NASCAR crowd (and possibly a couple drivers?)...not sure why else you'd schedule against two of the strongest 360 programs going

What will Brad Furr do? He lives in Stockton but is leading the Taco Bravo points at Watsonville.

I hope someone will post results from this event. It would be interesting to know who showed. Some of the Petaluma regulars perhaps? Maybe some Rebel teams?

There were 27 winged cars at Stockton99. Top 3 were Croft, Scelzi, Kent. They started all 27 in the main.
Edit -- sorry, missed the other post with the top 3.

How was the track? How about the spectator turnout? Just curious, Thanks!

Track was dry-slick, but smooth and fairly racy. Crowd was not great, although it is hard to judge because the grandstand is so large. Maybe people turned around when they saw it cost $10 to park. Program was run very, very slowly. Time trials started at 6:45 and the checkers didn't fly until after midnight. Nothing like the efficient programs we usually see at places like Placerville and Petaluma. Thanks to announcer Ron Lingren for at least trying to make sense of things.

$10 does seem a bit steep for parking. Not too bad if you have a full car load and can get everyone to pitch in but that is not an option for many people. Interesting that there is obviously no 'curfew' even though there are homes very near to the track.
