The NJ State Police, who oversee motorsports, have cancelled the remainder of the program...
car is still on the track awaiting the NJSP investigators. all posts have been pulled from the south jersey message board. please keep Jason in your thoughts and prayers

That last post certainly put a knot in my stomach. It does not sound good. Hopefully everything ends up ok.

Met Jason at the Tulsa airport . Leaving the chili bowl two years ago he had his very young son with him and was headed back to the Carolina's . Was very nice and cool with me. Then later saw him at the Trophy cup and he actually stopped me and said hello again . I hope all is well and my thoughts are with him and his family.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

*BREAKING NEWS*
Jason Leffler, a NASCAR Driver from Long Beach, California, and a
former USAC Champion, has been involved in a serious accident this
evening at Bridgeport Speedway behind the wheel of a 410 Sprint Car.
Due to the seriousness of the accident, Leffler has been transported to
a local hospital. An official statement concerning his condition or
the extent of his injuries has not yet been released. Because of this,
the remainder of tonight's event at the speedway has been cancelled.
Please keep speculation and rumors to yourselves out of respect to
Jason Leffler, his family, friends and his crew. When further
information is available we will keep you updated. All of us here at RPW
send our prayers and best wishes to Jason and hope for a full and
speedy recovery. - Matt Noles

So sad. Too much of this happening lately. Jason will be missed greatly. A Hall of Famer of this sport taken way too soon.
