I was there also and remember saying to my racing buddies seated with us that history was in the making. I think just about everyone who qualified kept breaking the track record and we just sat there wondering when it would end and who would end up with it. I also remember the Dunkins and other track prep people sitting in the stands on the back straight and watching it unfold. I never, in any type of racing, remember a record breaking feat like that. Just amazing.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Wayne Johnson would be a good fit. Not only would Wayne wheel the heck out of the car, he would make the proper adjustments if the car-cheif is to lazy to turn the wrenches.

You are right about Wayne!! He is a proven performer, and could well be the "right-fit"! I hope that you are able to digest, with a "grain-of-salt", some of the previous derogatory comments about the BWW #82 Team & Owners. I watch, in earnest, the Sammy Swindell / Danny Lososki / Craig Dollansky / BWW #82 (Henderson as well-as Wolfe) / Tony Stewart (and a few other) "camps" - - largely because I like the equipment, the mechanical aspects, the 18-Wheelers (haulers) and the general "atmosphere" around the track. I am surprised to hear anyone insinuate that the Crew Chief of the #82 team is "lazy", and, that "he does not drive the hauler" . . . in fact, from my observation over the past couple of years, the exact opposite would be true; I have yet to see their rig pull-in (or leave) without him behind the wheel. I am afraid there are some jealous fans, as well-as a few others who don't personally care for this Crew Chief - -thus taking this "opportunity" to "bash & badmouth" him, as well-as the owners of the #82 car; which certainly is not good for the future of this sport. Some of the comments in preceding post (not those of Mr. Highside) are anything but accurate. In all times, especially in these tougher economic times that we have been experiencing, when sponsors are not abundant, I would have hoped to observe more respect, some restraint, and less harsh criticism of various teams, as well-as their particular method of operation. To the credit of the LaHaise family, and the #82 Crew, nobody has heard, or will know what matters go on behind closed doors. I applaud the LaHaise family & Crew for their desire to respect personal privacy; that alone, is the trademark of true professionals. Additionally, I don't think it would be possible to for anyone on the crew "pull-the-wool" over the LaHaise family eyes about anything . . . they simply command too much business savvy, experience, and good ethics to allow for anything less the "doing things the right-way". Hopefully we will all have many decades of "healthy" sponsors and good racing to enjoy with our friends & family. Mr. Highside - -your suggestion of Wayne Johnson is certainly a credit to your racing knowledge!!

This is probably the finest post to ever grace the pages of this forum. It is written in a professional manner and details some of the misgivings others have mistakenly suggested. You, Mr. Voxman are a welcome and refreshing addition with your explanations.

Amen to what Voxman said.

People have jumped to all kinds of conclusions and really only one thing matters.

The owner(s) fired the driver. Cut and dried. Do we know why? NO

Do we NEED to know the "knitty gritty" as to the termination of the driver? NO

Let the info stay where it belongs..with the two or three people ACTUALLY involved!

Maybe Dan Simpson should hire Lucas to drive for him, he could replace his daughter Danielle as payback for the Gold Cup !!!

Anyone else in his daughter's car would make the majority of drivers happy

Lets just wait & see who the next driver is that they put in the car & how long he lasts before we criticise the crewchief or the car owners................................then in a month when they are looking for the next victim we can say something lmao

Maybe the car owner and/or crew didn't get along with Mr.Wolfe. If my memory serves me correctly, he started the 06' season in the Selma shell 11 car on the NST tour and was fired by June or so. Then he went back to PA and got into a family friends car (the 5w) and that took him up to this year. Maybe it was a difference in personalities with Henderson too. Just because it looks like things are kosher and the team is running well doesn't mean everyone is still getting along.

The best thing Lucas should do is to go back to Pa and run the Friday and Saturday local shows to get more seat time. He hasnt impressed me one bit.
