This was a great memorial race. Big purse, a few extra laps, decent field of cars and drivers, event T-shirts. The Tarter family and everyone who helped out should be proud. I hope they can make this an annual event. Congrats, too, to Dennis Gage and the Silver Dollar crew on the new racing surface. It was a 106 degrees Friday evening and 70 cars ran a full program, yet the sprint cars were still tossing clay on the last lap. Sweet.

I've read a few of drivers comments on twitter about last night race, and they were not too pleased with track conditions being what they were. First night on new clay can always be too hooked up, but it should get better and be in its best shape come Gold Cup time, hopefully.

Still
frame from my video at the David Tarter Memorial. Class displayed by
Kyle Hirst after a tough break while leading the main event. Salute to
David Tarter fans in turn four.
