I'm driving to the East Coast from Colorado, leaving some time Friday. Doubt if I'll leave early enough to catch ASCS in Salina, Ks., but I think I can make it to Eagle Nationals (?) in Nebraska or Knoxville regular show on Saturday. Any thoughts on which would be the more entertaining race?

Also thinking of trying for Kokomo regular show on Sunday, if I leave early enough & hustle. Any comments appreciated....

Either one would be a good show, if the weather will cooperate. Another option for Sunday is Jacksonville, IL. They are running a special event that features MOWA 410 sprints and an open late model special event.

Tornadoes seem to be 12 hours east of me, not sure whats coming in from West & South, although it SNOWED just west of me last nite!

LR: Why Knoxville?

jacksonville is a banked quarter mile.. dirt. Double features at kokomo is hard to beat if you can make it there.

MOWA is a 410 dirt series based in Illinois.

I've never set foot in Nebraska, but the field at Knoxville is going to be pretty hard to beat, IMO. Kokomo sounds like a great idea as well, one of the seminal tracks in the midwest. this gives me ideas, maybe I should roadtrip to huset's after the nationals this year...

I would suggest Knoxville. Good competitive field of 410's, 360's and 305's. It's a hard show to beat. Nothing but winged sprints. Eagle should be a real good 360 show but I don't know what else, if anything, they will be running. Hard to go wrong with non wing sprints in Indiana.

Knoxville is my weekly track so I'm a little bias but you get great facilities, and also all 3 classes put on great shows. Does anybody have an idea on car count for Eagle?

Knoxville and then on to Kokomo. If you were leaving earlier I'd say the Outlaws at Attica is a great show as well.

I would say Knoxville but the weather didn't look favorable early in the week. Probably less of a chance that Eagle cancels because it is more banked, and the rain would end there before Knoxville.

hasn't rained in Kville since Wednesday and forecast has changed and no more rain is expected. Should be a good race @ both tracks IMO.

ASCS National teams put on a great show, and Eagle has always been a racey joint.

Knoxville should have a great field of cars and possibly some invaders due to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Induction going on Saturday PM (I can't imagine Dale Blaney missing his father being inducted, even though it will be posthumously).

Go to Eagle if you want to see a good race. Go to Knoxville if you want to see stretched out half mile racing. Just depends what you like.

Put Lasoski on the invader list for Knoxville this week. Should be a great field of cars. Wish I could make the trip but I have to work tomorrow. I guess I will have to do the next best thing and watch it on Turn2Media.

I believe that weather will answer the question for you.

Knoxville is about 12 hours from Denver, Eagle about 8-9 if I remember right.

Plenty of other options if you aren't opposed to late models.

All else being equal, Eagle would win because I have never been there....otherwise Knoxville wins every time.
