Wooster,OH – Being the son of a legend has never intimidated Sheldon Haudenschild. While looking up to his father, the legendary Jac Haudenschild, Sheldon has carved out his own career path quite successfully. This year, that path has led him to two victories, the most recent coming this past Friday night in non-wing action with the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series at Wayne County Raceway in Orrville, OH. The victory was the first for Sheldon without a wing, and comes on the heels of his first Attica Raceway Park win in late March. Haudenschild has been amongst the fastest drivers in the Midwest this season, as his black and white Haudenschild Racing, Kistler Powered #93 Triple X has been among the fastest cars anywhere he's gone. Following his Attica win on March 30, Sheldon and his crew led by Kyle Ripper chased races throughout a rainy April and Early May. Confidence in the Haud camp has been high since Sheldon put together a run from 19th to 2nd with the World of Outlaws at Eldora that was derailed by a late race spin. The next race win was sure to come soon, and on Friday night, it happened without wings. Sheldon started ninth on the feature and with a style originally trademarked by his dad, pounded down the cushion lap after lap while advancing on the field. It didn't take long to get to the lead, which he would hold on to for the remainder of the contest en route to the victory. Sheldon wants to thank his hard working crew and family for all their help in getting him to the track every week, as well as sponsors Simpson, Ham Signs, Wintermeyer Auto Salvage, Butlerbuilt, Triple X, Emery Transmissions, GME and many more. Sheldon also has brand new merchandise for sale on his website at www.haudenschildracing.com.

The talent is in his genes. If I remember correctly, his maternal grandfather was Max Sweeney who competed in the California Racing Association many years ago.
