Possibly. Think maybe your a little dilusional. You were in that ride when it was the 48. Didn't do anything except I think cause big wreck in heat race at Beaver Dam during WoO heat race about 5 years ago.

raced Kelly Kinser for a championship in 05 running with the Midwest allstars. was only 20 sum behind with two or three nite to go. 2 I think. also we a very underfunded.open trailer not many spares, so u have to drive a touch conservative cuz if you crash ur done.. when mike drove that car it was not the same equip. lol we ran an old 12headed deal that was one of Frankie Kerrs old engines. plus it had nites on it when mongo baught it from FATTFRO also a former employer, and go them there first win what parts they had after scott Uttech had for his car as he was the primarydriver.ite on it when we ran a lot of peoples throw aways including BKs when I ran for "mongo" CHRIS HARTNELL 48h. it was not the same team as when I drove it, not even in the same league lol.
capt jim was on board by then fancy allpro motor new wheel tires wings, front axle assy ect
also pretty sure they had jeff Robinsons help. hes one of the best in the business. showed me some tricks on squaring the rear end when I ran the woo2 with my OWN TEAM AND MONEY . AND if jeff was there so were the RHEY boys. very knowlegdeable, passionatte help.
back to the point. We were in pretty good shape too I think. I liked my chances, lets say that cuz we had been getting faster and he had kinda planed off. still very fast like he was all year. Kelley was really fast that year. he even won the overall ASCoC OHIO SPRINT SPEEDWEEK CHAMP winning two events I think.
back to the point.
we were at GAS CITY that's in idiana, and we won our heat and dash. killed em really. mongo says I wanna win bad tonite whats it gonna take. tires I told him. so he and scot lenz made it happen. it was the first nite all year we had 2 new tires on the car ever and there were only 2 nights left.
Earned a spot outside front front virtue of winning the dash. well we off and running the car was perfect. wide open lock down get as much as you can get out of the throttle. and the car was going to get even better cuz it was locked down a touch much. Just as I started to catch lapped traffic something in the front end broke. heim on panhard I think. any who car darted to the right instantly going into 3. I flew off the end off the track, some how managed to save it with a 360 and come back out on the track in,, 4th or 5th maybe. and with puckered bung. Well I went down into the next corner and it did the same thing and we junked it. had to race the next night at TERRE HAUTE the next nite. we were done. The had the "luxery" piling the rest of the pieces on an open trailer. no cup of tee.
I went "the action track anyway and crew chiefed for eddie......no 29 blue car out of springfield ill" help me out folks with the las t name if you can. Eddie had the best run of the year and his highest finish ever with mass. The kicker is TIM ENGLER implied after the races were over that I could have drove his car. he was testing a new motor and head. he didn't realize I didn't have a car to run.
That's just one story. ran 3rd in the WORLD CHALLENGE during the Knoxville nats. never did win an A-main for CHRIS tho and that always disappointed me. ran 2nd 3rd and top five pretty regular.
RICK FERKAL hired me to drive the K car in ohio. he was the crewchief owned by SCOTT AND LOU from S&L farms. It was after I ran 3rd at butler mi for a mass show. I was driving the 48.
now that crash you speak was at the end of 07 and yes we tore up a bunch of them on a restart. I made a move low on hanigan going into 1as he left a small but makeable window if everybody just held their line. he didn't and ran into my RR.with his left front as he was trying to diamond the corner Had the video on my myspace forever. it showed exactly what I said. .I stuck the bottom perfect that time.
since your memory is so good then you also remember how many cars I passed in that raced and how dirty randy was running me all over the track, actually passed him the lap before. A yellow came out for WAYNE JOHNSON who was behind me cuz I passed him, and we had his leftover motor again. I like to tease him about it.
