Cool website and now I know of two auction families involved in racing. My wife is a collector and we used to go to a lot of farm auctions before I got so busy chasing racing. Up here north of the Cities a lot of them were by VandeKamp. One of theVandeKamp's drives a Street Stock at Kopellah, Cedar Lake and other tracks in this area.
Jason VandeKamp at Kopellah Speedway.

P.S. I'd love to see the IRA at Arlington but won't be able to make it that night. I was at the NCRA 410 show back in '99 and they were bad fast on that track.

I hope there is enough fans to support the racing on the 28th in the area. With IRA 410s in Arlington, ASCS 360 in Slayton, Jackson having a regular 360 show, Hartford SD has a regular show, and Knoxville for those that really travel, I hope the best for all the tracks and the fans get a great show, no matter which track they chose to support.
I will be going to my brother's wedding.

Hey Stan- nice photo of the VandeKamp car- I see number 16- When I was 40 I got back into racing and used the # 91- reason was -that was 16 over- Still sponsor the 91 IMCA Sprint driven by Mike Sargent- I also do the PA work at Arlington and sub at Redwood Falls for Terry Marguth who is also an Auctioneer/annouincer. Sometimes the lineups get a little hectic and talking fast comes in handy. I went to the stock car races with my dad in the early 50s in Mitchell S.D. & once in a while to the fair races-Moved to Minn in '57 and was a steady fan 60's & early 70's til Uncle Sam needed us- Got involved with a Late model in Valdosta, Georgia while in the service and when I got out and back home to Minn. Built a 55 chev with 327 engine & raced til a buddy flag man of mine was fataly injured at the track- I took a few years off to have a family and went back one night when I turned 40 and had a Hobby car the next week- The next year I had a sprint car -but I wasnt as serious as the young guys & so I quit driving and became an owner- Now as an announcer- Im finally making money racing- Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Pat- see you at the races.
