First off im not accusing anyone of cheating, but when a tech official tells you no we dont check "certain" things......WHY HAVE THEM IN THE RULE BOOK??????? The competitor that was getting checked told official it was same motor as last year. Correct me if im wrong but 1) That motor had been repaired last year and 2) You expect the track tech to ASSUME YOUR LEGAL????? I know the multiple features i have won people ASSUMED I CHEATED......WELL GUESS WHAT I LET THEM LOOK AT PUMP GAUGE TO STACK SIZE AND WHATEVER THEY WANTED. ALSO SURE SEEMS DEFENSIVE WHEN YOU GET ASKED TO SHOW SOMETHING.........YOUR QUICK COMEBACK IS WHAT TEAM YOU WITH???? Really????? I was asking if your car was LEGAL????? Oh yeah and tech officials said in front of several people that there motor did have a Roller Cam until the start of this year!! The past years have never been allowed a roller cam so that admitting ILLEGAL in the past. But what can one do when they bring 2 cars every week and are "The In Group". Anyone else have thoughts??? BTW I drive the #35 Hetrick Sprinter!!!!!!!

Kevin i admire you, you say what you believe..the officials at Knoxville need to go do something else on a Saturday night . If they intend to let the same outright cheating that they allowed last year go on again this year,because of their outright lazyness its time they found another job.it does not take much effort to listen to the 4 cars running roller cams and the guy with the 360 steel headed engine to know they are cheating..shame on you officials get them legal or get out.

What kinds of things do they look at as far as tech when a 305 wins? I saw Larry Balls car sitting over there last night by the tech area do they just check stacks?

its pretty clear the engine is not legal. if its the same engine from last year it still has the roller cam then right?

Please understand I am not trying to stir the pot with anybody. How can you tell just by sound alone that someone is using a roller cam? That is pretty impressive.

They checked stacks and pumped I know cuz i stood there the whole time. Well of course that will pass.

Words STRAIGHT from McCoys mouth was it got changed since last year..........BUT DID THEY CHECK TO BE CERTAIN.....HELL NO!!!!! They took crew members words!!!!! Sure there right....always believe the racer over tech.....lmao. And you wonder why that motor has track record?????????????????????

What are guys supposed to do come to Knoxville and run the back so they are not accused of cheating??? There has to be a winner every night so is every one the wins a cheater???

From what I saw while I was near the tech area was that they pumped the car (1cyl), they looked down the injection with a flash light and a flat bar to I assume look for port and polishing (1 runner). and they stuck a scope in the plug hole to check for flat top pistons (1cyl). I overheard the tech guy being asked if they ever pull the mag and check down there with the scope to look for rollers and the tech guy said they were not going to look for that since they had never done that in the past.
Does seem a bit fishy that the winning car could come up through with that much ease late in the race and pass the guys running up front, who are pretty stout in their own right plus the top 3 were running good lines. and then for them to get defensive as they are being teched when asked about pulling the mag... hmmm. Why get defensive if there's nothing to hide?

FIRST they said last night there is no protest in 305s. SECOND prove that you dont wanna hide anything and if your legal and win every race i will be the first to shake your hand. I have no problem getting beat when we all play with the same rules.

I really had a lot of respect for you, but no legal flat tappet cam turns 8500 rpm. and if you cant hear the difference between 7000 and 8500 i guess a new hearing aid is required.

By the way i made no mention of larry ball ..i think the reason he won is he is without doubt the most experenced driver in the 305 division right now..i believe that all cars need to be teched to keep it fair for all .

sprintfn1. AMEN........... BUT IF HE WANTS TO KEEP BUILDING ENIGINES FOR OTHER DRIVERS WHO CARES WHAT THEY PUT IN IT IF THERE'S NO TECH.......in there mind its "Legal". Remember they built it but no one can check it...lmao

Huh? Ostrich builds LBJ's engines.
First we can tell roller vs flat tappetts by sound. Now because it turns 8500 it has a roller cam. Why can't a FT cam turn 8500 as well? Before our local class went to roller cams we turned them 8300 all day long. A 305 regardless of what cam your using 8500 is pretty impressive.
