Let's not forget the team he's driving for. There ain't no idiots at KKR.
|
Not disagreeing, but when was the last time a KKR car won a WoO Championship?

You could put a couple of other guys in that seat and they could do the same thing, I do not think it is all daryn.

If this keeps up, it's not even going to be close. Can anyone remember the last time someone had a 145 point lead in mid April? The guy is the best in the country right now. Congrats to a guy that has more than paid his dues...a real racer too good for NASCAR.
|
Nope that would be TK! Plus he has raced 4 less races in the states and if he had been then Pittman's lead would look like shit! TK has won in Florida before as well, but anyway's Pittman is not the most dominant WoO driver at the moment. So far this look's like TK'S year just like it was when he raced with NST. May not win every-night, but should be in contention.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

Pittman's lucky to have a quarter of the resume Saldana has.

Saldana is like Dollansky, is fast everywhere he goes but gets into too many dumb accidents to contend for points.
Pittman is like Meyers, consistently fast and in the top 5 or 10. Maybe not your top winner, but can win the points title on consistency.

Discussing TK for a WoO points leader is a moot point since he will not run the full circuit..nor even half of it.
After June 5 he will be returning to Cali and I don't think you will see him in any WoO events again until late July..or maybe even the first part of August.
If his mom happens to "check in" maybe she can give us an actual schedule.
I would love to see him run the full WoO tour but he enjoys being a "real outlaw" and his schedule proves that.
(and he drives for great owners...Dennis & Theresa Roth. Lovely people)
I LEARNED ESP FROM MY MOM
"PUT YOUR SWEATER ON: DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW WHEN
YOU'RE COLD?"

124 points ahead and 4 wins on May 4th. I guess all the people who said KKR would regret letting Saldana go are real quiet right now. Hell, at this rate Pittman will have 30+ wins by season's end. Domination.

Yep, and don't forget Cody Darrah and Lucas Wolfe leaving the Posse to dominate the WoO......
Pittman won the Gold Cup, Kings Royal, Historical Big One and around 25 other WoO races before he went to PA.
|
Yeah, Darrah and Wolfe have dominated the WoO. Darrah's dominated the WoO in equipment destroyed and talent failed over the past couple of years, Wolfe's gone and trying lesser grounds - where he still can't dominate.
In fact, outside of the Posse claiming Pittman (though he's only raced a few years outside of his storied career there), who in the top 30 of WoO points is a Williams Grove prodigy? Well, outside of kid wonder Darrah - nice showing.
Let's take a snapshot of the top 20 in WoO Points - granted, they haven't hit the East Coast. Out of those, how many have a birthstate of Pennsylvania?
But hey, the Posse know how to race one track that is way outside of the rest of them. And they have the motors to do so. Dominance.
The Posse are the biggest myth in sprint car racing, and I'm not even discounting their racers. It's obvious that weekly racers are familiar with their settings, and when you throw in that it's a completely unique track, it makes sense. Where would you shoot free throws - the carnival with the weirdly shaped rims or the regulation basketball court?
tl;dr - The Posse is a myth. Are they tough on their own turf? Of course. But as evidenced in California this year - the locals are catching on. Knoxville has to be an exception - everyone tries to drop in an test and race there, and everyone knows how to get it done there.

We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

No ,but there is every kind of track in pa from 1/4 mile to 5/8 mile, high bank to flat track,so for you to say they are only good on one track is not very accurate or true ! The toughest competition for the outlaws are posse ask any of them! I don't see Lasaski having much success in the land of the myth's!

To say Pittman will have 30 wins is a long stretch. I dont think he will even get 20. Daryn is a very nice guy and I have enjoyed talking with him each time I see him at the track. It is so early in the season his points lead is a good spot to be in but all it takes is a little bad luck or a lapper to get in the way. It is never good to see a driver get hurt but Saldana is a good example. When he got hurt at The Royal his chance of a championship was done. Even with 20 wins Saldana had problems off and on and couldnt win a championship. I hope all the drivers stay safe this season and I think this year will be one of the best seasons and it will come down to the last few races. Paul Mcmanah Saldana and David Gravel are running really well this year also.

What do you consider dumb accidents? Saldana had two bad accidents knocking him outa two very close championship runs. Pitmans not even in same class as Meyers Two championships to zero. If Pittman continues at this rate winning at tracks he's admitted to never being good at. Or spinning out and coming thru the field. Guna raise some eyebrows.
