Hopefully we'll get this one in but with any race in April a rain cloud may pop up right over the race track Saturday afternoon. Good to see Robert Bell is racing again. Love that guy. Also saw on IBRACN, Brad posted that Garrett Dollanski is already done before the season started. Looks like Tony Vermeer is teaming up with Brooke Tatnell. Can't wait to eat some dirt with a little nachos.

Sucks for Garrett, but looks like a good break for Brooke. I think Tony must have taken a sharper pencil to the costs of running his own car and I know the 11AU was having trouble finding a significant sponsor. Like the idea of a two year deal, but then again, we all know how quickly sprint car deals can fall apart. Now I wonder how far the 55 may travel (wouldn't expect them to leave the midwest by much!)

Any way to get a Robert Bell racing T-Shirt? How about a Robert Bell Twitter feed? I would imagine that would be very entertaining.

From Knoxville Raceway's website...

"Hesmer will once again pilot a familiar black #1 sprint car in the 410 class with car owner Bryan Sundby..."

Robert Bell is a favorite of mine for many reasons. A twitter feed would be awesome lol.... I encourage all of you to go say Hi to Mr Bell. I spoke to him briefly during the Ultimate challenge in Osky. Very willing to about talk about his race car. I think he's also one of the few drivers to salute the crowd during the heat races! Wish he had tee shirts!

Hoping we get to see some races Saturday Night, should be a pretty healthy car count. I know my son and I have been itching to see some racing for the last month or so).

Hopefully the forecast doesn't scare off any first time fans (the Race for Your School Night is a great promotion IMO) - hopefully they'll get a good healthy crowd from the area schools (including DesMoines).

3000 Adult tickets sold would equal $15,000 going to local schools to help out with their budgets (anyone with kids knows that every $$ helps, as a lot of items are no longer even offered or have been reduced (field trips, school uniforms for athletics, upkeep to buildings/repairs).

From listening to Winged Nation today sounds like Knoxville Raceway and the Marion County Fair Association are really embracing giving back to local organizations (Race for your School, Hospice) and other organizations (Susan G. Komen Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Nice to see IMO, wish more tracks would do the same across the nation (Williams Grove used to do an Adoption Night (maybe they still do), which IMO was a GREAT idea as well.

High expected Saturday to be low-mid 50's. I think their only concern will be the amount of rain

instead of the temperature. People expect temperatures like this in April. Hopefully some wind on

Friday helps dry out the infield a little. Safe to say Fridays practice would probably be a wash.

Brian Brown tweets he will be racing

Weather for Saturday looks good. But a LOT of rain in central Iowa this week. As usual it will come down to the infield being in good enough shape to bring trailers in come Saturday. The track itself drains well.

Tony Vermeer and Barry Lewis teamed up last year with Ian Madsen in the 55, so I think this is basically the same team as last year with Tatnell, but new car number and Lewis as primary owner.

I own a Robert Bell shirt. He had some about 5-10 years ago. I gave Robert a $50 bill for the t-shirt and told him to keep the change. You would have thought he won the lottery he was so appreciative! He literally started tearing up.

Don't forget kids 19 and under get in free this Saturday night. And dress warm!

Pit them outside of 3 & 4.... Lets race.

Every year I get frustrated with watching the Posse boys racing for two months before Knoxville... But, I completely understand the economics of Knoxville's sprint car schedule starting in late April and ending in August. That's why I head to the Show Me State for some racing early and late.

You should have went to Greenwood, NE a couple of weeks ago. They had ASCS sprint cars along with MLRA/CBC late models and modifieds for 2 nights of complete shows.

It was a possiblity, but both our kids have other interests as well that don't involve racing.

Hard to justify 5 hours in a car travel time when they have other things they like to do within 20 minutes of the house that are just as fun and cost about the same $$.

Totally understand. It was a good show though.
