I understand where you're coming from...and agree that parts are running a little thinner than they might have been historically. I have a couple of quick notes regarding your posted reply:
1. Route 66 Motorplex (Victorville, CA) and Orange Show Stadium (San Bernardino, CA) Sprint Car races are sanctioned by the United Racing Association (URA). In addition to being good purse, cash-paying races, they are points-paying events as well. The URA will crown a 2013 Champion. These are not one-off, filler shows. The teams, drivers, and fans have more options to add legitimate Sprint Car racing events to their calendars...which is the very purpose of this organization.
2. I can understand how easy it would be to assume that teams that show up to the races in large haulers have an unlimited parts supply. However, if you talk to these teams you'll realize that your assumption isn't necessarily the case these days. The front-running teams are all hurting right now. You'd be amazed at what the budgets are for some of the teams that have been consistently on the podium this year. They are running up front because of their experience in building and setting up fast race cars and their driver's ability to get the job done...not necessarily because of the budget. The econonmy combined with the recent attrition in the first 5 races this year has these guys struggling to keep their equipment in top running order. The 2nd URA Sprint Car race scheduled for March 23rd was cancelled because several teams asked for some time to re-group and to collect new parts. 2-3 races per month is about the limit for the majority of the teams right now....assuming they are not breaking engines and losing chassis each week.

I hope your right Kenny,I've been told by more than one person that the walls don't look like they have been raised, which is what I understood was the reason for the last race being moved to V.Ville.

When I compare the $$'s, which everyone knows I do, I can get more out of running the URA, than the CRA. I took home $350, cash from Route 66 at the last race, finishing 12th in the Main. I will receive $100 (consolation for 10th in the Semi), after spending $150 for pit passes alone at the CRA race. Myself, Low Buck Teams, and 360's will have better chances of , both track time, and Prize $$, not to mention points in the URA Championship series. The Usac/Cra series pays point fund $ at the end of the season to the top 5 Teams. I doubt I'll be in contention for that, so points are irrelevant to me, (18th, 23rd, 36th in points doesn't matter to me.)
I want to race at Perris, but I also want to race where I have a better chance of making money, and having fun, racing in the Main, and being more competitive. This sport costs way too much, takes lots of energy to upkeep, and becomes a lifestyle, so I need to enjoy it, at least. The URA will be good for the Owners, Drivers, and Fans, with more affordable racing for everyone. Be sure to give it a chance, it might not happen overnight, as Most good things don't.

I'm trying to put two cars together for the URA right now. I really believe that it is the way for southern california to be able to see more quality sprint car races. We all can't afford to race full time in the USAC-CRA. Some people can, not me. I will show up ther once in a while and I will try my darndest to help others that do though!

Going back to the original question: "What is the reason we don't have more USAC 410 races at the PAS?" No one here can presume to answer for Don, of course. (And it isn't like he, Scott D, Chris and Kim were sitting on their hands as things began to slip away in the early '00s. They weren't.) But we =can= presume with regard to the trends about auto racing in general and sprint cars in particular, as well as the demographics of sprint car racing nationally and locally. It is not 1957, 1967 or 1977 anymore. Perris is neither Gardena nor Irwindale, and it's 70 miles from LA and 50 from central OC. The hot rod culture is 60+. The vast majority of the smaller total number of "racey" young people drive trucks and rice rockets. Most of the car owners and hard core fans are in their 60s and 70s. The economic recovery here lags way behind the rest of the country. Car racing in general is dying in SoCal. I worked for the late Frank Arciero 25 years ago on two big race track projects in Palm Springs and Moreno Valley. I loved his ideas, but I had very serious doubts about the economics =then=. Irwindale is "open" again after two years, but papering the place with freebies. Fontana is not getting the crowds it used to... and is (to some extent) papering the place with freebies for their Saturday shows. Ventura is NGTCIU2. Long Beach is a "social event," not a race. (Please.) Cajon is gone. I love what Scott B's trying to do at OSS, but all the facts suggest it won't last that long. Times change. The world changes.

"...we need to enjoy now ,, while we still have wait we have..."
Well, =that's= it, isn't it? And support every race we can afford to support by showing up or buying the live feed. And get a little dough or auction items to Chris. Or buy a lap leader sponsorship. Or get a little dough to Ken. If enough people do the =little= "do's," we'll have our favorite passtime around a little bit longer.
