Posted on Greghodnettmotorsports.com last night after his violent crash at Port Royal on Saturday night...INJURY UPDATE 4/1/13...Greg underwent tests today following a hard crash Saturday at Port Royal. Greg's right hand was shattered in the crash, resulting in a temporary cast until Doctors determine if he will need surgery. While his leg and ribs were not broke in the crash, both are bruised very badly. Check back for an update on the extent of down time Greg will face while recovering and the plans, if any, for the Trone Outdoor Motorsports #39 while he recovers.

Sorry for the accident. Hope it is not too serious and he is back racing soon.

Another driver I would love to see out on the big circuit. A truly nice guy.

If Greg can't drive for awhile................put Leppo in it. Fast and easy on equipment. Car count in PA has already become depressing! E-mods.

He may already be on the big circuit.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I like Leppo as much as the next guy but I think he's anything from easy on equiptment. I saw him tear a good amount of stuff up last year in his multiple rides.

I wonder if Greg will require John Trone to give him an "injury" bonus much like his "missed Florida" bonus?

Ummm, maybe I missed it, but I don't recall Leppo tearing up 'a "good amount" of stuff ever, Much less last year. Nobody that races competitively will ever avoid contact entirely, but id argue Leppo is as easy as any. Didnt bend a piece on either the 1z or 51, 51 hurt a motor at selinsgrove but I don't put that on the driver. 5 DNFs in 30-35 races, 2-3 off the top of my head that were equipment related.... It's really hard to crash a 410 and still finish, so I assume most nights they pushed the car on the trailer, not carried it.

Just what did Hodnett miss in Florida? Do you have any idea what it costs to get to Florida from Pa and put everyone in rooms and feed them for the so called Florida swing? In my mind I think Lee and Greg are the smartest people in the world not going to Florida to race but I think like a guy who is spending the money to put a car on the track and not a fan. Call it as you see it.

From Facebook: Great news! Greg's hand will not require surgery and his expected return should be a just a few weeks.
