Qatar City, April 1, 2013: Reliable sources advise that HE Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Thani
is in negotiations to purchase a United States sporting enterprise called the World of
Outlaws (WOO). The WOO is a traveling sprint car racing organization presenting races
throughout the United States. Presently the WOO vehicles are single seat, high horsepower,
vehicles utilizing huge wings on their tops for downforce.
It is understood the Sheikh plans to increase the purses for WOO races significantly with
winners of each race receiving a minimum of $35,000 with at least $2,000 to each car competing.
In addition, the Sheikh has plans to pay each competing team $2,500 in weekly transportation
money. The Sheikh is targeting the WOO as he believes that is the best approach to obtaining a
racing organization with events throughout the United States. After recently seeing a race in
which similar cars raced without the large wings, it is believed that the Sheikh is leaning towards
eliminating wings after his acquisition of the WOO.
The Sheikh is already heavily involved in racing in the United States as he owns two racing
teams (Al Anabi Racing) in the National Hot Rod Association. These cars are referred to as "top fuel
dragsters" and can reach speeds of 330 miles per hour in under 4 seconds from a
standing start.
