Pavement sprint car racing is back as there are a record number of wing shows this year. The growth is coming from all three of the major pavement sprint car regions; Midwest, Southeast and Northwest.
See the Master schedule and the Regional schedule on the below link. We also posted each Series schedule on the "Series" tab and each Tracks schedule under the "Track" tab.

I've never seen a sprint car on pavement before and would love to see one, expecially with wings. 150 mph laps at Bristol? What could be better. But, maybe no passing, don't know. Had a chance about 20+ years ago when the NCRA guys invaded the north country here in the midwest and ventured over I-94 speedway in Suak Centre,MN when it was pavement, until a few years ago. Would have loved to watch that, but didn't make the trip. Still hoping to see them on asphalt someday, but time running out.

They can put on a really great show as well as the super modifieds. But, they can bore the hell out of you as well. It's a toss up. I still prefer dirt racing over the pavement, but sometimes when you catch a really good show it's well worth it.

I'm primarily a dirt sprint/midget fan, nut, I've also seen some excellent pavement sprint car racing in Anderson IN, Madera, CA, And Sannduaky, OH. Guess you could say I am a reluctant believer in pavement racing. Honestly, if the field is stout, you are so focused onthe racing you don't even notice whether ethane surface is tarmac or clay

no pavement around here in Oklahoma.
I've never seen a sprint race on pavement. I saw a short clip of a USCS race back when Oklahoma's Trey Robb went that route. Some track in the southeast obviously - and it sure was fast. Problem was I think they were having trouble with car count so they opened it up, maybe even provided incentives for lesser cars to come run to fill the field.
It was great between the top few, I remember Terry Gray being in it as well. But of the 15 or so there were only 3 or 4 that were competitive. Actually made it interesting because there was constant lapped traffic.
If I am ever in the area of one of these shows and it looks to be a quality show (decent car count) - I'd like to check it out live. Never been to a pavement track of any kind, I would like to check it out.
Cool panoramic of the scene you posted though. Thanks for sharing, grabbed enough of my attention that I'll lightly keep track of it.

The Must See Racing touring series is set up for a fantastic year. The list of drivers completing this year is a "who's who" in pavement racing. You have a few Indy 500 drivers, a few Indy Lights drivers, some USAC drivers and several pavement specialtists. On top of that, you can add in the big guns from HOSS and AVSS at the Michigna & Northern Indiana races and the field is even stronger.
I highly recommend checking out one of the MSR racing shows this year.

Howdy all,
I have been a fan of Sprint Car racing for 45 years or so.
When my Dad first started taking me to the races USAC was king and they had
quite a few Pavement Races on their schedule. To this day I am thankful for that. No doubt that Dirt is #1 for Sprint car racing
but that is not to say that pavement racing does not have its place.Back in the day, most teams only had one car
and there were weekends that they would race on Dirt one day and pavement the
next. Made for some pretty interesting scenarios. There were a very few pavement specialists and
the teams that were serious about the championship had to be good on both surfaces. It really did add a unique dimension to
things. I have always tried to get a pavement sprint show or two onto the
schedule but with the current pavement sprint car situation there are many
choices.I am very happy that we are experiencing
resurgence in pavement sprint car racing. It’s good for the sport in many ways.
My advice to any of you that have not experienced a sprint
car event on pavement would be to give it a try. Most of us have been at this race chasing
thing for a long time, we have been to all the tracks and seen countless races
on dirt. Pavement is a nice change of pace and is quite interesting if you give
it a chance. As someone else has
indicated, the Super Modifies are just off the hook cool. Must See Extreme has
several events scheduled this year that both the Sprints and Supers are on the
card. Get yourself a pit pas and go and check out these cars, you won’t regret
it. Pavementsprints.com is a new site
that can get you up to speed on what’s going on.
Variety is the spice of life, sprint car racing is the best
form of racing hands down, dirt AND pavement.
