Davey Hamilton is racing a 360 motor vs. a 410 field of wing sprint cars. This is at the Must See Racing opening weekend. With the weigh break, can this level the playing field? This is pavement racing on big 3/8 and 1/2 mile tracks.
Here is the article taken from; http://pavementsprints.com/news/030413_hamilton.htm
The Must See Racing opening weekend is the Royal Oak Southern Shoot Out at Five Flags Speedway and Mobile International Speedway later this month. Davey will be competing in a 360 c.i. car amongst virtually all 410 c.i. engines. Davey will be helping out with a testing experiment to see if given the proper weight advantage, if a 360 c.i. engine can be competitive with a 410 c.i. engine.
"Pavement sprint car racing really needs a big race to help the sport grow. There are so many different groups that either run 360's or 410's. We need to figure out how to get everybody together. The rules should be made for us to be able to get all of us together. That's the purpose of me driving for Lenny (Puglio) at the first two Must See events. I think I get a 100 lb weight break. We'll see how it goes".

I like this idea. Sounds like a good way to get car counts up for pavement sprints.

It has been a while since I have been to Mobile, but a 360 could wear the field out at Pensacola. The track has very little grip and flat wears tires out.
